San Jose / Jaco Snippets
A few thoughts from a recent trip,
Tango India in San Jose is worth a visit, but not if you're looking to get laid. It's a multilevel strip club and brothel. If memory serves me correctly, private dances are about $20 but dances on the floor only cost around $4. The private rooms cost anywhere from about $190 to $400 for an hour. And that's in addition to what you give your date. The upper end multi-room suites are a site to behold. They overlook the stage, with curtains for privacy, and have large couches and whirlpools. All the rooms have bathrooms. If you're looking to throw a party, consider renting the airplane. It looked like it could hold about 20 people. I'd read the women were supposed to be a cut the ones at the Del Rey and Cocal, but I'd disagree. They ran the gamut from ugly to very attractive, but you'll find ones who are just as good lucking elsewhere.
The Cocal Hotel in Jaco is ground zero for freelancers in Costa Rica. There's quite a selection of women, and some are very attractive. Try to get a quiet room at the Cocal if you want to have any chance of sleeping before about 1:00 AM. This means avoid the rooms that front the pool, and don't get an ocean front room close to the restaurant and bar. I paid $100 to $150 and wasn't negotiating. The majority of the women I met came from the San Jose area for short stints, and are only there around the weekend. Some lived in Jaco. And one had taken the bus 15 or 20 hours from Panama City. It's a buyers market.
I was only in the Del Rey once, one afternoon. There were a couple of lookers. I took one of them, a mixed race Panamanian with kick ass, store bought breasts, back to the Morazan for $100.
I stayed at the Mariott Belen by the airport in San Jose. This is not a good place if you're bringing back multiple dates, and the only decent place nearby is D'Pelufos strip club in Alajuela. However it's a great hotel. I stayed on the club floor and the "free" food, dinner and breakfast, was better than anything I had in Costa Rica. They've got a driving range, nice pool and fitness center. Highly recommended in you're wifeing up for your trip or want to be close to the airport.
