Default Need some Foodie help

If you have 6 nights to have dinner anywhere you want in San Antonio, where would you go?

I'll be traveling to San Antonio, the week of September 11th for work. I'll be staying near the Convention Center, but I'm open to visiting restaurants in the greater San Antonio region.

What are the MUST go to restaurants?

I just want good food. Any kind of food that is great. 5 star...food truck...doesn't matter.

Thank you in advance.

I am a big fan of Boudros on the riverwalk, try the table side guacamole. Paesanos is good, Bohanan's for steak.
Outside of downtown I'd recommend La Fogata on Vance Jackson or Los Barrios off Blanco.
Chris Madrid's on Blanco has the best cheeseburger in the USA.
Damn, I'm hungry now

steak at J-Prime (1604 North)- nice happy hour
Lunch at Pappaduex (410 North) for some seafood
Breakfast tacos at Taco Taco or almost anywhere else, go good, so many places
Barbecue at 2m BBQ (WW White), get there early before they run out
If you have never had a Whataburger, try one, double meat cheeseburger
Bigz Burger Joint for a chalupa burger
Must have fajitas but where - so many great places

San Antonio is one of the fattest cities in the US, so be sure to have one of our lovely ladies with you every night to work that meal off.

Sir the culinary institute is located in the "pearl" area so I believe that's puts A LOT of pressure on the restaurants there to produce top=notch dining so you might want to swing by there.

If cost is no object, Restaurant Gwendolyn at Pecan & St. Mary's.

Everything locally grown/raised/caught and prepared strictly by hand power; no electric mixers, blenders, etc.

Everything served is in season, so menu is limited: choice for each course is "either-or." Excellent, nonetheless. Had braised elk ravioli while celebrating my birthday with my ATF.

Just as Bahama58 (rightly) recommends the guacamole prepared tableside at Boudro's, I highly recommend the after-dinner coffee, brewed tableside at Gwendolyn. An experience in itself.

Service as well as the cuisine is "a cut above", and the setting is intimate and quiet.

For a more affordable yet memorable experience, try the Fruteria-Botanero by Chef Johnny Hernandez, 1401 S. Flores in Southtown.

I'd love to feast on pussy but its getting way too high dollar with a side of attitude from most, and I'm still hungry after paying for it.

Best soul food and fried chicken - Mr and Mrs G's lunchtime late afternoon.

Mexican -La Perla anything you order is going to be fantastic and too much food. Borracho beans are a must, but you will end up taking those back to the hotel in a big ass cup. My experience - best damn Tex Mex in San Antonio.

Best Korean is at the Koreana House. Make sure to get the kimchi pancake and dwaigebulgogi (sliced pork BBQ). My personal favorite.

Best Filipino food- Marie's off of Hwy 90 and Loop 410 by Lackland AFB. About as far out of town as you may want to go.

I believe SAAngel has been to all of the above and she may second my opinion.

I agree with her opinion on Chama Gaucho as another culinary experience.

Try some out and tell us what your thoughts are after your visit.

If you find yourself in need of a dinner companion I also recommend SAAngel. Great conversationalist and impeccable table manners are among her other recommended skill sets.

I travel to SA for work. My colleagues took me to Boudros. Some entrees are expensive, but, the quality was great. I enjoyed myself for sure. They had specials for restaurant week that turned out great. Wine selection is good too
