And who knows what it is doing to his moral with the team. Why should he give a fuck any more. Its obvious that the Texans will not be SuperBowl contenders for at least the next...hmmmmmm....4 years, minimum. I hate to see great players like JJ and good players like D.Hop play on such mediocre squads...

I can see his numbers dropping quite a bit which is possibly why he did his one day hold out, or whatever that was. The O-line is now officially in shambles and decimated. With Osweiler running for his life until he gets his head taken off, there won't be a lot of chances or time to get Hopkins the ball. Lamar Miller needs to be strong in order to loosen all of that up, otherwise it's going to be a painful season.

Slowly by surly Bill O'Brien (B0B) is taking over the organization which is why I am not so upset about Rick Smith getting that extension. Each year you can see a change in the draft, who we take and how we move around in the draft. We are taking players and making moves that never would have happened when Kubs was here. I think BoB is learning and adjusting. The last draft showed the BoB has learned when to move up and for whom. The Texan team is getting bigger and faster which is what BoB wants, I don't think it would have happened with Rick calling the shots. Although The Fat General keeps saying that Rick Smith has control over the 52 I suspect that BoB has all the power now. Long term I see Rick moving up and giving up involvement in the draft and someone hand picked by BoB taking over on the draft part.

As for the team, we got speed, lots of speed. We are lacking just in one position really, tight end but I expect that to be a first round pick next year. O-Line will need some work. As for QB I will just have to wait and see. Everyone is high on Brock but last year he had almost the same stats as Blane Gabbert with the 49ers, what's so great about that. He was yanked because he could not move the offense. Let's just wait and see on him. And for Tom Savage. IF he is not the back-up, if he can't beat out Wedden, I see him gone at the end of the year.

Clowney might not ever live up to the hype. If BoB keeps talking about how he is getting better this tells me he really has not been very good from the beginning.

I think Smith does a good job with contracts and the cap, not so much with talent. If they let O'Brien pick the players, and Smith work the money end, I believe it will be fine.

If Rick was cut tomorrow zero clubs would pick him up. He doesn't even negotiate good contracts. How many FA did he overpay? If the rationale is the coach does all the work, then there's no reason to resign the idiot.
