The issue is done have a right to protect ourselves from foreign and domestic enemies. We do, hell, the enemy is already here, who executed 911 attacks, enemies within our borders. If guns were outlawed the government and the enemies will all have weapons while we sit and wait for our inevitable doom.

Wake up people! Stop with the polarization of our country. Stop depending on the government to fix your problems, fix them yourself. With freedom also comes responsibility. Wish I had some of both instead of socialists taking it all away. I lose responsibility but I also lose my freedom with each law passed.

This country is crawling with guns, yet gun violence is rare unless you go looking for it. My little suburban cul de sac is armed to the teeth, and if I project that onto the surrounding neighborhood then that's hundreds of deer rifles, AR's and AK's, and thousands of handguns within a mile radius. Yet still we have relatively peaceful middle to upper middle class residential bliss. Obviously there's not a high correlation between gun ownership and violence or there would be Mad Max beyond Thunderdome in my little piece of Niceville.

Blame for these types of incidents should be assigned elsewhere, but guns are an easy scapegoat if you drive on the left side of the road. The real social and cultural reasons driving this sort of thing, and the decline of the USA generally speaking, are complex and sensitive topics that touch too close to home to sacred leftist causes to be examined critically by mainstream media. So you get "ban the guns!"
