I guess it depends on your definition of "crumbs". The median household income in this country is about $59,000. If I did the math correctly, the new tax plan saves that household a little over $2 a day. That IS crumbs. Wife and I make much more than the median household and will get more than crumbs back. Unfortunately, the new tax plan does NOT do much for the people who are lower down on the income scale. For me, it means a few more days of vacation in the Caribbean. For the average person, it means little.

Corporations giving back to their employees is a very nice gesture. It would be nicer if they gave employees significant salary increases so that the employee's income would be affected every year rather than a 1 time shot.

All in all, the tax reform package is a positive. Until you realize it adds $1.5 trillion to the debt. A debt that Trump promised us he would eliminate. Then let's bring in the $1.5 trillion infrastructure proposal of Trump. Again, where is that money coming from?

The crumbs comment was about the fact that the bulk of the 1.5 trillion added to the debt is going to benefit the top 1%. That the middle and working class people of the country are getting the crumbs from this tax bill. It wasn't saying that $1,000 is crumbs. But of course the Republicans will try to spin it that way.

But when the Republicans do that, the Dems can just use Paul Ryan's words to show the inequity of the tax bill.

That paying for the membership of Cosco is worth having to raise the debt ceiling because we are going to run out of money sooner because of this tax cut. $1.50 a week equals $78 a year. Someone got $78 dollars, Paul Ryan got $500,000 from the Koch brothers for getting the tax cut through. See how ads showing that works for the Republicans.
