Illegal Border crossings are down over 60% and black unemployment at historic lows and wages for low skilled jobs are up! Merely a coincidence?

Sorry Ellen but you don't get to decide who's on Team Trump. The guy is clearly a racist. But he has the right to like who he thinks represents him.

Well I would say it's definitely a coincidence with the African American unemployment rate being low. Especially since it's been declining since 2009 under Obama. In fact, it's declined 1.1% since Trump has been in office. That's only .5% better than in 2015 to 2016. And it dropped 2.1% from 2014 to 2015. So Trump may want to thank Obama for getting it down so much. Oh and African American labor force participation is actually down since Trump took office. So idk what you are talking about. Nice try though.

I guess it all depends on what source of information you choose to believe.

Illegal border crossings have been dropping for a decade:

"Apprehensions by Border Patrol agents peaked at more than 1.6 million in 2000 and began falling substantially after 2008. The previous low point was 331,333 arrests, during fiscal 2015. Experts have attributed the decline to tougher U.S. enforcement, improving job prospects in Mexico and long-term demographic changes that have driven down the country’s birthrate."

Source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.4e365562990b

"Our ruling

Referring to border apprehensions, Trump said, "The border is down 78 percent. Under past administrations, the border didn’t go down, it went up."

Calculations of the latest figures available from U.S. Customs and Border Protection do not show a 78 percent decline in apprehensions. The closest number to that would be based on cherry-picked numbers of the highest number of apprehensions in November to the lowest number, in April.

Though there have been fluctuations over the years in the number of apprehensions, they certainly have gone down under past administrations.
We rate Trump’s claim False."

As to Trump's taking responsibility for the drop in black unemployment:

"Since Trump first took credit for the lower unemployment
rates earlier this month, journalists and economists have noted that he isn’t really the cause of the decline. Unemployment among black Americans has been declining pretty steadily after coming close to 17 percent in 2011. Over at the Washington Post, Philip Bump points out that unemployment numbers for black Americans have fallen relatively consistently for the past several years. By the time Trump entered the Oval Office in January 2017, the black unemployment rate was at 7.8 percent."

Source: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...record-decline

And let's not forget that as the unemployment rate came down from 10% to 4.6% under Obama, Trump referred to the statistics as "a hoax".

"Donald Trump, the presidential candidate, would not like the way Trump, the president, is crowing about today's unemployment rate. He'd be calling the whole thing a "hoax."

Trump raised a red flag about declining jobless numbers during his campaign, so as to deny President Barack Obama any credit. Trump noted that the jobless rate masks the true employment picture by leaving out the millions who have given up looking for work.

But Trump is seeing red no more. The same stats he assailed in 2015 and 2016 now are his proof of "fantastic," ''terrific" economic progress, for which he wants the credit.

That disconnect is part of why Trump's statements about the economy this past week, some accurate on their face, fall short of the whole truth."

And as for increased wages for low skilled workers? I can't find anything that supports that statement.

Unless I'm wrong I think that border crossings are way down from over a year ago. Nor is there anything like the disaster of parents putting their kids on trains in Guatamala and sending them here alone due to permissive policies and statements by our government.

Crossings had been declining somewhat since the recession shock because there were fewer employers here requesting illegals. But the major decline was just in the last year due to fear of apprehension.

Now employers are starting to get the message that they too can be held accountable because of large scale raids. IMHO all illegals who cross do so because they already have job offers waiting for them here from employers. Their relatives employed here send for them when their employers ask for more help.

As big a problem as crossings are illegals that arrive on visas and then fail to leave. Once again, unless I'm wrong I think that source is way down also.

Cool Consider the source...

Let us recall that President TRUMP's FAKE News “winners” were CNN, mentioned four times; The New York Times, with two mentions; and ABC, The Washington Post, Time and Newsweek, with one mention apiece. Most anything contained therein or referenced thereof is garbage and/or propaganda.

So why do we need "the wall" along the U.S.-Mexico border at a revised estimate of $21 billion? And millions more each year to maintain. Didn't Trump PROMISE that Mexico would pay for it. Pure BS.

So parents from Guatemala are sending their children to the U.S. on trains? And exactly how do they cross the border on trains?

Simple Lucy. Let me s'plain it to you. A wall does not go away after the next election. The $$ is used, not just allocated or promised. It's tangible versus ye olde 'pay you next Tuesday for a hamburger today, shenanigans.

Lol except that Democrats tried to put forth a bill that would have paid to keep the military going and the Republicans denied it. And there are Dreamers in the military too so there's that. And sorry but the military isn't the be all end all. That was just a talking point that Trump tried to use along with the whole CHIP spin which was also a lie since Republicans didn't fund it for over 100 days when they could have. Oh and let's remember that Trump has been telling us he was all about getting DACA solved and saving this Dreamers. But like always, he's lying.

The wall has not been started. No estimates as to when it will be started. Little money has been allocated to building the wall as of today. In about 9 1/2 months there will be an election and it is very possible that Republicans will lose control of the House. If Trump can't get funding for his wall with Republican control of the Senate, House, and presidency, the likelihood of him getting funding after November becomes less likely.

BTW your little "s'plaination" neglected to address the question as to why we the taxpayers should pay for a wall that Trump PROMISED the American people that Mexico would pay for.
A wall that the majority of the people in this country seemingly do not want.
