I just realized that probably most people will not wish to put out there that they're attending this conference. So if you'd like to meet up or just visit for a few minutes while we're there, please send me a PM.

I'm probably attending alone. It's my belief that I can get into more mischief in that way!!!

Looks like a good line up of workshops. SPLF is an active and social group. That's a good thing. I looked at it last night and recognized one of the presenters. (Two actually, but one we beat in a competition, so it's kind of funny and I'll be nice <-ask me to tell you that joke). Topics look good too. There was one about identifying mental disease - hello! real good one! I didn't see any Domme centric workshops? Did I miss it? See that 65 yo woman? That'll be me in 25/26 years - lol. Seriously, they are the best. Forgot more than we know.

I love going to and participating in the workshops. Go, ask questions, participate and take notes and tell us about it.

Attending, learning and networking - collecting the 'credentials' in the Scene - helps.

The Market. Look at every vendor's wares. Ask about their stuff. Ask how do you..../they'll teach you there on the spot. Get their cards/flyers. Seemed to be a good mix of vendors as well.

Just go and have fun and learn. That's the end of my orders.

EDIT - the Figging presenter. Great teacher.

there will be many requests for business cards...
not the typical time wasters...
when it comes to fetish...

I will probably go. I've engaged in BDSM activities for many years, sometimes with Professional Dominatrixes and sometimes with girlfriends that sub to me. I've kind of learned things on my own through experimentation and reading. I met a woman about 2 months ago on ALT. She subs to me. She originally starting learning about this world at Sanctuary and learned about Beyond Vanilla from them. She wants me to go. I tend to be a lone wolf type. But I have to admit, it's more difficult to learn as much on my own as it would be to meet people with different experiences.

I do brouse this board from time to time. And I recognize the three ladies with post ahead of mine. All of you seem to have much more knowledge and experience than I do. It sounds like all of you agree that this forum is a good place to learn. I think that's enought to convence me. Thanks for bringing it up Elisabeth.

I will actually be presenting at BV. I hope you to see yall there.

BV has progressed this year to include some more edge living minded classes, which is a departure from the last 19 events where we catered to the novice or newbie.

SPLF is a more advanced event which focuses on Master/slave, Dom/sub, and advanced edge play classes no to mention the contest.

I will probably be heading to the vendors fair at least. I've done some in-room parties there before, but most likely won't be doing that this year.

But it's always nice to see some old faces and new ones as well.

For the record, I'm not that experienced. I just like the subject matter and I'm always curious about alternative activities. Plus, I have very few personal boundaries with regard to certain subjects.

I understand the idea of being the "lone wolf" type. I've always considered myself abit of a Lone Ranger in terms of how I deal with this arena and my personal business, in general, as it regards my chosen profession.
