What a shame! What a loss!

I AM depressed! One of the best rock and roll sax players I've ever heard!

We'll miss you Big Man!

i'm not a huge Springsteen fan, i like some of his stuff but his blue collar rock god schtick gets old.

but E STreet band were great and its sad to see them lose Danny Federici and Clarence Clemmons. I don't know how they'll recover without Clemmons, he always seemed the soul of that group.

tough tough loss. I heard about his stroke and thought it was serious but figured he would pull out.

I hope he's in a better place.

Big Man also appeared in the last couple of seasons of "The Wire." He wasn't moving around too well, even back then.

How many rock and roll sax players can you name? Not talking R&B, jazz or funk. But rock.

Only one who comes to mind is Clarence Clemons.

The Doobie Brothers had a kick ass sax player at the ROT rally. Pink Floyd sax player was pretty good. I can't name either one though.

My point exactly.

Doobies have changed personnel a number of times over the past half-century. Pink Floyd's sax player also has changed over the years, though there are some REALLY tasty sax parts in Dark Side of the Moon. In the case of both bands, the sax player was a backup studio guy, often different from tour to tour. Stones feature a great horn section, but they're not part of The Rolling Stones.

The Big Man was an integral part of the E-Street Band.
