They did not know about his trip, so knowing they had to print something about the President, they chose to portray what ever he was doing in the most negative way possible.

This is journalism in 2019. I doubt anything will change in 2020.

On the the other hand, it appears that the head of security was leaking disinformation about the plans of a very unpopular potus traveling over seas.
Appears to be a tactical lie, but most likely necessary.
