"no, sorry, can you repeat it"? one lady said "I didn't hear nothing"! I couldn't help myself.. "you didn't hear nothing, or you didn't hear anything"? she didn't realize she was being ridiculed.. "no, I didn't hear nothing"!

another time I gave the "Worker" $40.71 for an order that cost $21.66.. Fucker never looked, assumed I gave him a $20 and a $1, and started to give me back a nickel. I told him "I gave you $40", he argued, but got the Manager, who took the register and asked if he could count the cash inside? sure, what else can I do? minutes later the Manager apologized, gave me correct change, while his "Worker" sulked in the background.

the Drive-through workers randomly give napkins and plastic forks.. you may get them, one of them, or none. no way to know.

granted, these examples are brief and statistically irrelevant. but the thought of any of these Jack Wads earning $15 an hour makes me CRINGE.

The minimum wage no matter what level it's set at will never be enough or if it is it will be for fewer people.

The cost of the wage increase will either be fewer workers or higher prices for goods. Either one because the labor cost wasn't market driven will slow market growth. 2 workers were getting paid 7.50, now 1 is getting 15 and the other is laid off or both are looking because the business went under.

They are paid minimum wage because 5 minutes after a worker decides to quit, another person can be trained to do the job just as well without losing a beat.

Why pay them more? It will actually hurt them as their own costs go up and they be in a worse spot than they are now at the current wage.

Learn to be a plumber, or construction worker or something that requires skill and get paid more or continue to flip burgers but shut the fuck up.

The hobby is a great example of a free market. It's harsh as fuck but it works as it should. Ladies at minimum wage start BnGs for 80 bucks a pop. Some try to start out higher and end up leaving as they price themselves out of the market. However, if they lower their price to where they have demand they can stay in the game. Is it fair that one lady can get 350 or even 450, but another can only pull 250? No but that's life. It sucks. The women who get over themselves do quite well.

Minimum wage workers could straddle a cock if they wanted more but don't want to learn another marketable trade.

Yeah, I'm an asshole.

minimum wage is for entry level jobs. jobs that's good enough for teenagers; or someone working for the first time in the job market or a part time job. no body hires teens any more, they're not worth the $7.35 an hour, much less $15ph.

the constitutionality of the minimum wage law affects 4 provisions of the U.S. Constitution. the 1941 supreme court ignored 2 of those provisions and got their legal ju-jitsu ruling.

affected provisions

- interstate commerce clause
- govt can't interfere with contracts (this means state & federal)

2 more provisions I don't remember what they were as I can't find the article that lists the 4 provisions affected (2 implied for it; 2 against it).

Additionally people can start at minimum wage and prove their worth and make raises and get a better position if they earn it.

Thanks You to the above posters - You are missing the point with logic, cogent, directed arguments about the socialist effects of the $15 min wage.
It is about DPST politicians pandering to buy votes of disaffected basement home dwellers who refuse to get out and work to support themselves on what work pay they are qualified to do, and perform satisfactorily.

They want to American dream with no effort, no hard work.
Logical argument means nothing to the lying DPST politicians - it is about buying the vote.

When Americans look at the federal treasury as their personal pocketbook - it is the death knell of representative democracy, and the inevitable conclusion is totalitarian dictatorship.

After I retired I got bored and went back to work at a home improvement store for a year. $10 an hour and at times very physically demanding. People who had been working there for years might have been making a little more but not much more. For me the pay was unimportant but try living on $10 an hour. Little chance for advancement. This is life in the retail world.

These people work hard. They would love to live the "American dream" but it is unrealistic to have such dreams. But I also agree with those who correctly state that raising the minimum wage of such workers to $15 will have an impact either on the bottom line of those stores or those who shop there when prices are increased to pay for those raises.

I think the minimum wage should be completely abandoned. If a company can find employees to work for $5.00 an hour and operate well enough to turn a profit, why not let the people who are willing to work at that rate earn?

this brings in the so-called "living wage" argument.

Sure, but you have to have a job to get any wage. At 15 there will be less jobs available. More people will be living off of 0.00/ hour .

They are already being replaced. The Mickey Ds by me has 4 order kiosks and only 2 human order takers.

The left has a lot of problems with throwing out inflammatory terms with shaky definitions. Currently "globalists" are people who want to come to America illegally and never return to their country of origin.

what's funny (?) is this particular Popeye's seems to cook the chicken better than others, their service has been pretty weak, but passable.. the chicken is better, and was today, but every single Yelp review gives this location one star, there are 20+ reviews, ALL of them a single star, all of them bitching about the shitty service. meanwhile there is a Chik-Fil-A next door, biggest I have ever seen, the drive-through space is extremely large. can you say bye bye Popeye's?
I'd eat there 3 times a week if my wife would let me. My problem with Popeyes is when they have a 12 or 15 piece special and run out of chicken and you have to wait 20 minutes. At 5pm they should be dumping chicken in the fryer nonstop until 7pm. And who the fuck orders "mild" chicken at Popeyes?

And Taco Bell. And Home Depot. etc..
Haven't see one at Chik-fil-a yet. Probably something to do with that evil Christian bastard ( joke, for the sarcasm impaired)that runs the place giving his people Sundays off.

this has been a interesting thread! It's gone from lousey fast food service to Speedy working at Home Depot! I guess that was so he had enough to pay for his provider habit, sure wouldn't want the S.O. to be asking why they have less money in the bank If you want the cheap providers they use to advertise on back page But I do know a person who started at Micky D's as a server then became a store manager and the last time I spoke with him he climb that ladder all the way up to the Corp. level so those fast food jobs may take you places you may never have dreamed of

Speedy almost got nailed, he was jotting down items on a piece of paper.. $50 QV, $90 CBJ, $140 DATY, BBBJ, etc., trying to match his paycheck to service options, when his old lady walked in.

the quick-thinking Speedy managed to say, "damn pricing codes Home Depot is making me memorize", LOL

I'm not going to knock Speedy for working at HoPo. You can only sit at home so long. I'm thinking about maybe applying for some Census work.
