SR - I have a diffeent opinion of the mortality rate for the coronavirus - there are likely thousands of undiagnosed/asymptomatic coronavirus cases - In the US- which dilutes the rates. Seems in China the infection may be dying out - but I trust China CCP not at all to be truthful.

I must say - given the experience of the "Princess" cruise ship - I would personally be very wary of getting on a mobile island with no egress for some weeks. All it takes is one person entering in the incubation period - - or norovirus - and you are in quarantine.

SR - As DF wrote - Do take care of yourself. I do wish you a safe and happy trip, and hope the concerns come to nothing!!!

That is why I mentioned although the lead doctor on Trump's team stated that the known death rate was in the 2-2.5% range, the actual death rate according to him was probably in the 1% range for the reason you mentioned. Still much higher than the flu death rate.

Thanks for the concern. I hope to continue our friendly battles while on vacation and when I return.

I could definitely see this election being as lot closer now. A lot of Americans are still living "paycheck to paycheck". They didn't see the benefits directly from the stock market. However, if there are job furloughs and layoffs because slow and cancelled production due to this outbreak, a lot of people will be second-guessing if how quickly POTUS acted was quick enough. I don't think any government handout like Trump talked about tonight will substitute for a full paycheck.

As a silver lining, perhaps Americans will now realize how fragile our supply chain is under the current globalized trade model that brings us all those "low, low prices", reassess the vulnerability we have as a consumer nation, and start taking what both Trump and Sanders have been stating for years more seriously.
