Fusion GPS was hired in Sept. 2015 by The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative publication, to do oppo research on DJT. Once he secured the nomination, The Beacon stopped paying for research. The info was offered to Dems and the research continued.

The Beacon did not commission the Steele Dossier, it grew out of the previous research. Obtaining oppo research does not stop with public info. To suggest that R's would not use all available resources to dig up dirt on Dems is wrong. Politics is a dirty game and everyone plays it, especially at the highest levels.

Democrats did not obtain a FISA warrant. The FBI obtained a FISA warrant after the European IC alerted them about disturbing conversations between Russians and members of the Trump campaign.
