Default PCmatic.com

Has any one used PC matic? I have the fear it will be one of those programs that once installed will be impossible to delete if it falls short of its adds.

Type PCmatic.com into Google

Lots of people calling it a SCAM

Then there was this:

Then to top it all of and the reason I call it a scam it then doesn't want you to delete it. It's going to be all over your computer and if you don't pay the money it will keep on telling you that your computer has problems, it may even create actual problems. If you delete it then it will just reinstall. Unless you are a pretty tech savvy person you won't be able to delete it without a full reinstall of your operating system. The whole thing is a scam, don't fall for it. And don't fall for the fake reviews

Default Thanks

Thank you for the prompt answer. I am computer illiterate and when I tried to install Bing I screwed up my home page. I finally just did a favorite link to Bing.

There are a number of scams like that. MyCleanPC is another one. I would never go near them.

Here is all you need...

The following are all good free tools for keeping the computer clean and free of malicious code as well as other nasty stuff.

CCleaner

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Revo Uninstaller

Avast! Antivirus

Zone Alarm Firewall

These are what I have been using for years. With these tools I have never had any malicious code cripple or otherwise have any effect on my Windows system. Also, the database updates for Avast! and Malwarebytes are free as well.
