Default Louisana Delivers Trump A Black Eye

Politico headlines.

In the redest of red states where he has the majority white vote He's lost 2 of 3 gubernatorial races within the last week. This is a horrible sign for the Republicans. The real question is why? Could this be the reason:

LOL. I just showed in another thread where whether the Republican candidate won or not in Lousiana, it was still a win and continued affirmation of conservatism there. Hell, I might have voted for the guy.

Who doesn't like a pro-life, pro-capital punishment, pro-guns, pro-tax cut, pro-tradional marriage candidate, who says he will follow the constitution.

That's certainly not what the left if offering up for POTUS at this point.

Abortion & Reproductive Issues:

Pro-life a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortions be illegal after the first trimester of pregnancy?
Yes c) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes d) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered?
Yes e) Do you support requiring parental notification before an abortion is performed on a minor?
Yes f) Do you support requiring parental consent before an abortion is performed on a minor?
Yes g) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for abortion procedures?
Yes h) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
i) Other or expanded principles:
My Catholic christian Faith informs my person, pro-life values which extend to policy decisions beyond the birth a child. I am not merely pro-birth. I am actually pro-life.

Crime & Public Safety Issues:

Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?

Gun Issues:

No a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
No d) Should a license be required for gun possession?
e) Other or expanded principles:
I support increasing effectiveness of existing background check laws so that those who pose a danger to themselves or others cannot legally purchase new weapons.

Economic Issues:

Yes a) Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers?
Yes c) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation?

Social Issues:

No a) Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes b) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Louisiana's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes c) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Louisiana's anti-discrimination laws?
e) Other or expanded principles:
My Catholic Christian faith informs my personal views on traditional marriage, and against same-sex marriage. My oath as an army officer was, and as Governor will be to uphold the constitution, including recent rulings.

So if this fella was so conservative, why did Trump go to Louisiana to fight against his re-election? With Trump it’s only about the Trump party winning. And it isn’t.

Give your balls a tug!

Aww, it's so cute watching the TDS get the better of them.

They can't realize that's it's not all about Trump.

The left, the MSM, the OP are all trying to make this Louisiana election into a loss for Trump.

Ok, revel in those thoughts. As I said as a conservative, based on the positions I posted, it's not a loss for conservatism.

You do realize he merrily signed one of the most restrictive anti abortion laws in the country.

You might want to give your balls a tug if you think this was a win for the socialist progressive left. It wasn't...

el - interesting post about stands and positions on issues, rather than DPST "Truth" and narrative.

They cannot stand the "Facts" about their lapdog ( thought to be by LSM) democrat governor of Louisiana.

One might think the DPST's went back in time to win Nov 2016 from all the celebrations.

No hardly!

Yeah, it's funny that the candidate that won would be laughed out of their POTUS list consideration on ideology and actions alone.

He largely advances conservatism, but with a "D" behind his name that's all they see.

They are truly blinded by TDS at this point.

Your grammar sucks but to say Louisiana is one of the most red states crosses the line into insanity.

Insanity never stopped a DPST in search of "Truth" and "Narrative"!

LSM is portraying this as a Trump failure
In reality - Edwards adheres to a conservative point of view the DNC abhors.

plus he is an old white guy.
I think Louisiana voters made a reasonable choice.

DPST idiots don't even begin to think that a Democrat could have a centrist Right-leaning. opinion.

JBE carried Jefferson Parish and Jefferson parish is a Red parish. a bunch of republicans voted for JBE because they thought he was conservative enough. its why he won.

people there didn't care for Rispone voted for JBE or stayed home, but they liked Trump.

so its one of those things that you can't hang this on Trump.

the race was very close. 51% to 49%.
