TENS units use static electricity, without a pacemaker present, the likelihood of stopping someone's heart with one is almost nonexistent. I have used them for years in the lifestyle and was even the model for an expert demonstration. Pain should not be the goal in any electrical play. It should be used to accentuate the rest of the play. Make sure you have a good connection (gels are good for this), do not place red & black too close together on sensitive areas, and always keep open communication. The possibilities with electrical play are endless but a good start is to buy a basic unit (starting at $30 online) and start experimenting. As you get more advanced, connect with a local expert or a pro domme who has been formally trained in this area.

If you Google USING A TENS ABOVE THE WAIST there are many different cautions.
As long as you are well-versed and don't mind paramedics showing up...to each his own.
I choose to be on the safe side.
