Well not tv, but the idiot news writers. We'd all be dead according to them.
Habits to remain alive:
Get up every morn.
Go to work every day.
Pay bills, raise kids.
Vote idiots out of office.
Get some practice from time to time at the gun range.

If one has lived as long as I have, you saw the change happen in journalism from 30 minutes of straight news of the day with no commentary at all, to every single person in the news business having an opinion about everything they report and that opinion is based on their political beliefs.
If you know this and understand this, it becomes easier to live with but understanding why some of these news people do what they do, isn't always apparent. Just know that they all have a motive and just might not be telling you the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Once one understands this, life is so much simpler.

I don't have a TV in my house people give me TV all the time I cut coard, yoke and and scrap take the to scrap yard. I refuse TV in my house. TV is like drug to some and feel addicted to it and like to share if have exter.

It's always been about "getting eyeballs."
The 60s to mid 70s it was about the space program and Vietnam.
During the 90s and 00s it was about how "unfair" the right wing news radio network was.
During the last 15 years it been about the Demomedia and the coordinated onslaught of news stories fed by the Socialist Democrats and the lack of pushback by any outfit other than Fox news.

There was a very interesting conversation, I wish I could produce it, about how the Democrat party, only recently has moved away from concern about the average working American and is now fixated on wokeness and wokeness only. Even the economy comes second to wokesness and identity politics and if you few sane people on the Left can't see this and aren't worried about this, heaven help us.
For the last 3 weeks, Bill Maher has asked every guest the very same question, "will wokeness destroy the Democrat Party"? Let me answer that for you Bill, yes, it will.

I agree completely with you here Hedonist. IMO, TV journalism died when Cronkite retired.
I also at least semi-agree that women's will harm the Democratic party, but I also think that Trumpism will destroy the Republican party to a far larger degree. The country desperately needs a new "shining star" from either party, or independent from either to get US of A back on track. We are currently derailed and there is enough fault to go around.

With that said He was left of center. He had a belief that reporters report the news not make or be the news.
But even Cronkite lost his way when he came out against the war.
