Client safety is definitely just as important as Provider safety!!! I even say this to guys when I’m trying to verify them. I tell them that their safety is just as important as my safety. I’m not trying to insinuate any differently and I hope my post didn’t come across that way.

Not at all!! Your response was classy and elegant, which is a perfect description of how you are :-)

I'll be honest, if someone asked me for my hotel room a couple hours early, it would freak me out. I would worry I was being set up with cops or the hotel or someone else.

One time, not hobby related, I was staying at a hotel and a jealous, evil person got ahold of my hotel room number and posted it online and I had a bunch of guys showing up banging on my door and had to call security. The person I had given the room number to knew nothing about it, but the information had fallen into the wrong hands.

You just never know what might happen and I don't see anything to be gained by disclosing the room number so early. If she had his info and wanted to check to make sure he was there, she could have called the hotel. I've done that before.

And another little trick...you can add another person's name to your reservation. So if a guy doesn't want to give up his real name (and the lady is okay with that) he can just as that Johnny Walker be added to his reservation and the lady can call and ask for Johnny Walker and be put through to his room (without disclosing the room number). Then he can give her the room number upon arrival.

I've had several ladies ask for my room number well in advance of the appointment. If I'm familiar with the established history of the provider that I've just called I don't think twice about giving out my room number. I really don't see much of an increase in risk by doing this. As others have pointed out, any robbery attempt or other shenanigans could destroy a lady's reputation that has taken years to establish. Moreover, I can't think of a worse attempted robbery plan. The client victim would know exactly how to find the person responsible later on, plus a would-be robber would be walking through a hotel with security cameras to capture his or her identity, and then heading into a room where a client might very well be armed and prepared for such things. To me it sounds like a robbery plan that only a crackhead would conceive.

In many hotels, the room number is not of consequence because a door key is needed to move the elevator or access the stairs. I always establish a place that I will meet my guest and describe myself so she will know who to look for as she scans the room. {I'll be the 40s WM wearing dark jeans and a black sweater sitting near the TV in the breakfast area.}

That said, if I know very little about my expected visitor, I would probably not disclose a room number until around an hour before the visit. It's always better to be extra cautious.

For sure! I have zero issues giving it out to someone I’ve seen before and trust

Most people in the hobby check people out thoroughly before agreeing to meet. If doing that hasn’t given you the confidence to proceed, then pass. My take is that if you’re uneasy or uncertain at all about someone, regardless of what info they ask for, you simply shouldn’t do it. Because whether or not your unease is justified, neither party will have a good time if you’re anxious.

I’ve been in the hobby for quite some time, and I really doubt the info she asked for signified that she was up to something. Like Chloe & I both said, she’s probably been burned before & was trying to make sure you’d follow through. You know, you could have just asked her why. She might’ve had a logical explanation!

Solid points Ginger! Next time I have a similar situation, I’ll ask why. But you’re right about both parties being anxious and not having a good time. I was kind of glad we didn’t meet cause in the end I knew we were both going to be anxious AF if we ended up meeting. Communication is the key to success!

Give them the information that you're comfortable giving. The provider isn't going to give you more info than she is comfortable giving, why should you?

Most likely she changed her mind, but didn't want to tell you, so she "spooked" you, by pushing the envelope.

Have you asked her? Or just came on here wanting to know what everyone else thinks about it? Do you need reassurance from the group that you did the right thing?

You did what you did to feel safe.... Nuff said

I didn’t ask her cause I figured at a certain point it wasn’t going to happen. Also, there was that feeling of anxiety on both ends and knew we weren’t going to have a great time. I wanted to see what the group thought about it and was interested in seeing clients and providers thoughts on this. Learned a lot and it made me more mindful of what providers have to go through on a daily basis.

One time I had a provider that was on p411 ask me to send a picture of my driver's license and I did had been in contact with the provider for a few hours before I sent it. Then it went about a hour before I heard a reply I was thinking I had been duked then a reply o what a relief she had a RW job & got busy and couldn't get a reply back I said sure. Anyway I went to meet her we met at the lounge at her hotel had a couple of drinks and then went to her room. She showed me her business cards & stuff she was working on. Had a great time with her and she was a great experience then she was gone don't know what happened to her. So every time you go out to play get ready for anything.

B Three, and, Ginger Doll have both provided the correct data related to the last part of getting to the date.
Ginger Doll has also added the "did you do your screening" comment which should be inherent.
For both parties security all folks I know, both Gals and Guys, accept the same procedures.
Conforming day before or morning of, whom-ever is traveling lets the other know when en-route, and room # provided just a few min before.
And, a lot of folks will stick with same procedures even if they've been dating the same person for quite a while. Why? It works.

For me it doesn't matter if the person is legit. They may have a crazy SO who has access to the cloud and sends the cops or alerts the hotel or something worse.
