I was just watching Trump's press conference. At least 2 people questioned him about "the wall" and he conveniently avoided the funding question. He said that the U.S. will be taking in billions and billions of additional money, primarily from Mexico, due to NAFTA being replaced with the USMCA and this essentially means that Mexico will be paying for the wall. I personally don't know how but let's assume it is true.

If Mexico is paying for the wall through the USMCA, why is Trump demanding $5 billion + in the budget?

Let's end the shut down. No money needed for the wall. Mexico is paying for it. Or is Trump lying?

Because Trump lies to everyone about everything. Only 36% of the American people believe him. They are as stupid as he is

Most construction projects get financing which is paid back later from some source.

Any businessman knows that. But then again political pundits are not businessmen like Trump.

Most businessman pay their bills and dont file bankruptcy 4 times. Trump says federal workers are ok not getting payed during the shutdown. Thats exactly how he operated as a businessman. He didn't pay people. Thats why all his money is from sucking Saudi, and Russian cock

Aww, do I sense jealously for a guy who has had hundreds of businesses and business ventures, whose companies still employ and give livelihood to 20+ K employees.

Was also a successful media personality and above all got more electoral college votes in the last election to secure office as POTUS.

If only we could all fail so miserably.

You are talking about business loans. Mexico giving us money through USMCA is not a loan. Trump says it is worth billions and billions to the U.S. Trump is not shutting down the government and asking for a "loan" until we reap the benefits of the USMCA. He is double-dipping -- billions coming in from USMCA and 5+ billion from taxpayers.

Yes he was in favor of some sort of "barrier". BUT THAT WAS WHEN A DEMONCRAT President was occupying the White House.

That was a great plan that the Republicans wouldn't endorse. Trumps wall is pure politics. he had 2 years and didn't do shit. Now its an emergency? I call bullshit on Trump and his base. His hotels and resorts are full of undocumented workers. Texas construction sites are a minimum of 80% undocumented workers hired by "MAGA" mentality white people
