a question (and some snark) about language and tone.
Aside from the usual, public, social networks (FB, Twitter, IG, SC, etc.), this is the only 'board' I regularly access. It's been invaluable to me (thank you all), and I've posted a few reviews that I hope have been helpful to others.
That said, there's this 'thing' that happens in here that I just don't get. It's about the language and tone that some - a minority - of posters use when talking about providers. I'm not referring to posting bad/negative reviews. I'm not talking about scam alerts, or reporting someone (hobbyist or provider) who rips you off, threatens or otherwise abuses the rules of the game.
I'm talking about the few guys in here who consistently refer to the women as whores, or hooks, or meat, or whatever other term they choose to degrade providers as a class of people, or the work they do.
It actually disturbs the fuck out of me. (And, since I quite enjoy fucking, you can understand why I wanted to write this note.)
I'm not an idiot. I'm pretty confident there's something ugly or weak or otherwise 'less than' in someone who thinks that way or thinks it's funny or manly or tough or whatever to write that shit. But, I am curious as hell how people get that 'us' versus 'them' in their heads to start with.
We (hobbyists and providers) are in exactly the same boat. We're both equally twisted, socially-acceptable-wise. (Me more than most, truth be told.) Providers don't exist without guys eager to play with them, and we hobbyists don't exist without providers. We both lack something the other has. Pure and simple.
To be really clear, this isn't about being politically correct or nice or whatever. It's about using language that makes it clear you think providers are 'less than' you in some way.
In case there's any doubt, I'm pussy footing (no pun intended :-) ) around this to start a discussion. To apply a little peer pressure. I figured naming and calling out the half-dozen trolls who do this regularly would just start a whiny-little-bitch fest. But, in case there's any doubt - if you think I'm talking about you, you're probably right. And not that it matters in the slightest, but I think you're a genuine assclown, and should just shut the fuck up because you're embarrassing yourself.
So, what is it, you think? Does denigrating women make them feel 'big' or smart or savvy? Is it something else? Something as simple as they are just genuine, clueless, socially awkward fucktards? Inquiring minds wanna know.
Some, I know, post just to see shit blow up. Those people are a special type of asshole that this sort of thread actually excites. My apologies in advance for encouraging them. :-)
