I have a question about the ropes used, you mentioned 1/4 in cotton or sash cord as best, what about the wide flat sash cord sold in yardgoods stores???

IMO I feel the use of any restraint is dependent upon it's intended use. The cotton rope or sash cord is smooth & soft and the 1/4" in easy for wrapping and to tie different knots. A flat restraints, such as flat woven sash cord may bind during wrapping and could be difficult to maintain the integrity of certain knots, but as long as it is smooth and soft.

Any agreed upon binding will work, just be very careful, watch the blood flow, purple limbs are not a good thing. And keep a pair of sheers, sharp knif or medical scissors available for quick release...

I have used all kinda things, depending on the session and the look I am interested in creating. I have Saran Wrap I want to try next...
