Like the illegal aliens they want to infest this country they wish to bring with them their emotional-political baggage from California so they can make Texas like the shithole they fled to come here.

I knew that was "in the works" and our Texas "future" when the Texas Public Utility allowed Reliant to include their unpaid electric bills from California in the utility rate hike applications.

Similarly, I recall a conversation I had in a bar-restaurant owner in her establishment at the foot of Mount Ranier years ago in which she was related the results Washington State was getting from those clowns' mass exodus through Oregon and into Washington state and how they had managed to infest the state government with their dumbass ideas and fucked that state up .... see current events!!!!!!

Wrong again, lying liar.
Austin's increase in population is primarily from other Texas cities.

Astute observers see that residents from other Texas cities are moving to Austin. Your evaluation of Austin is like all of your evaluations. Not based on facts and pulled out of your ass.

You don't like it here? Good. Stay the fuck out. We don't need more 7-11 clerks like you. Many of those guys here are students, something you haven't been since your 11th grade.
You showed rare insight by leaving when your parents kicked you out of the house for failing 10th grade. You can't afford to live here. Because you're lazy.

Once again you wear your stupidity like a badge of honor.
STFU and don't talk about things you know nothing about. That should limit you to less than 10 posts a week.

Austin leads nation in population growth for 8 consecutive years

“So, it's still right at about 100,” said City Demographer Ryan Robinson.

On average, that's about how many people continue to move to the five-county Austin metropolitan area every day. On Thursday, the U.S. Census Bureau released new population estimates. Austin is once again the fastest growing major metropolitan area in the country. The Austin metro area includes Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell counties.

“To be 8 years the fastest growing big metropolitan area, that does surprise me a little bit,” said Robinson.

Austin's high quality of life and strong economy have the city once again leading the pack when it comes to population growth. The latest numbers put the population of the Austin-Round Rock metro area at 2,168,316. That’s a 2.5 percent increase from 2017 to 2018.

New construction of apartments, condos and houses and low unemployment figures had demographers expecting the census numbers to be high, but not quite this high.

“That race is much tighter,” said Robinson.

The City of Austin’s demographer says even though Austin is still the front-runner, cities like Orlando, Raleigh and Atlanta are now on a more even playing field.

“Five years ago, Austin was way out in front. We were growing by a full percentage point faster. Now it's a very tight group,” said Robinson.

Conventional wisdom is that Californians have Austin's population and skyline growing.

But state demographers say it's other Texas cities, more than California, that are creating the demand for downtown apartments and condos and suburban housing.

“People that are moving to the Austin metro area are coming mostly from other Texas metros. So, places like Houston and Dallas and San Antonio but also smaller metros like Killeen and College Station,” said Lila Valencia, senior demographer at the Texas Demographic Center.

Add up all the newcomers and 53,086 people moved to the Austin area from 2017 to 2018. It's a repeat of the rest of the decade where an average of 100 people moved to Austin every day.

“Just in the last eight years we've added 20 percent of our total population so that really rapid growth,” said Valencia.

Demographers say in about four weeks the U.S. Census Bureau will release more population numbers that break down where in the five-county Austin metropolitan area people are deciding to live."

Companies like Enron and Reliant(Both Houston companies) caused problems for Washington, Oregon, and California in the energy market.
Do you ever get things right?
That business operator you have lied about was as stupid as you (but we know you didn't talk to her). Companies in Houston caused problems for all 3 states. The West Coast states knew who was to blame.

Reliant Energy Will Pay $460 Million to Settle Claims

Reliant Energy and the state of California said today that the company will pay $460 million to settle claims that it profited from the California energy crisis in 2000 and 2001.

The settlement would cover a host of claims brought against the company by officials from three states - California, Washington and Oregon - electric utilities, and ratepayers, and it would bring the total fines and settlements Houston-based Reliant has paid thus far to $525 million.

Officials say Reliant and other power companies like Enron manipulated the West Coast electricity market, which had been recently deregulated, by creating artificial power shortages to boost profits. Consumers in California, meanwhile, saw soaring electricity rates.

Including today's deal, power companies have agreed to or have been forced to pay a total of $5.29 billion to settle charges related to the California energy crisis, according to the California attorney general's office. The Reliant settlement has to be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the California Public Utility Commission.
"Along with Enron, Dynegy and El Paso Corp., they broke the rules and violated the law," Bill Lockyer, the California attorney general, said in a statement. "This settlement holds Reliant accountable for its substantial role in the rip-off that was the Energy Crisis."

Without directly admitting or apologizing for any wrongdoing, Reliant said in a statement that it is "responsibly addressing legacy issues such as these."

"Today, Reliant is a very different company than it was in 2000 and 2001," Joel Staff, the company's chairman and chief executive, said in a statement, noting that the company has new board members and senior executives.

About $150 million of the settlement announced today will be paid in cash to the states and other parties. The remainder of the settlement will be made as waivers of unpaid bills from Reliant to electric utilities, which bought power from the company through the state's deregulated power grid.

California agencies and utilities will collect $453 million, and Washington and Oregon will take $7 million. Mr. Lockyer's office said most of California's proceeds - $430.5 million - will eventually go to ratepayers through refunds, credits and lower electricity rates. Attorney fees and costs will total $15 million; plaintiffs in private class-action lawsuits will receive $4.5 million; and municipalities and local water districts will get $3 million."

The lying liars.
I don't understand why you think you know so much when most of what you "know" is wrong.
