Default Let's talk about Sciatica

One day at work, at my previous vanilla job, a young man
who was extremely slender and tall, he was maybe 20, he
complained out loud about his back hurting. He had a
sit down desk job. I explained to him that he probably
had sciatica.

I did not know what sciatica was until I had it, and
someone close to me told me how to help myself with it.
Sciatica is largely known as pain in the lower back, hips
and sometimes legs. Nerves become pinched, compressed while
sitting. The key is bending down, squatting, all the way
with your butt down as close to feet, knees bent all the
way and apart. This needs to be done for long, extended
periods of time, in order to stretch the nerve and prevent
it from pinching and spasming.

It also helps to get on the floor with a light yoga mat if
possible, flat on your back with your buttocks down. You need to bend your legs at the knee and pull them toward you in various ways that you can find examples of on Google. It also helps to twist your waist while on your back on the floor, to
move your bent legs to the right and left, emphasis on making your hips do the work in order to stretch that nerve. It also feels good to push your pelvis up as high as you can, using your feet braced on the ground, bent knees for leverage. Mostly, thought, deep squats held for extended periods of time is most
helpful.

THEN, you HAVE TO WALK. Force yourself to put on a comfortable pair of shoes and walk as long and far as you can go. This is vital. Walking will take care of what the stretching brought out. Even if you hurt, you have to walk it off.

Lastly, change your chair. Especially if your back hurts while you are sitting in it. Don't be like me, I spent the whole day squatting, stretching and walking, only to sit back down in my chair. I ignored the discomfort and tried leaning back. It ruined everything and pinched the nerves all over again. I had to spend the next day doing it all over again, the pain was not worth it.

Swimming is an excellent remedy as well. If you can jump into a deep pool and not touch the bottom, actively swimming is as helpful as walking to get your pinched sciatica spasms to calm down. Hope that helps. I am convinced that there are millions of people who are physically incapacitated because they initially suffered from untreated sciatica. Nobody can stretch your body like your own body can. Hope this information helps someone.

Yoga is your friend. Try yoga. You cannot stretch enough.
