Default Web Photos That Reveal Secrets, Like Where You Live

An article that the ladies should read if they take pictures with smart phones (like for example, an iPhone) and send it to clients or post on their website.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Web-Ph....html?x=0&.v=1

Summary: Newer phones (and some cameras) have the ability to save the lat/long of where the picture was taken. This means that if you take a picture of yourself in an incall, and then send it to someone. They can look at that lat/long, enter into google maps, and know exactly where you are.

please be safe!

The "geotag" is something that is real and caution should be used by anyone using smartphones to take photos. Use the old fashion camera instead.

You can use the smartphones as well, just remember to turn geotagging off before taking photos that you prefer no one will know where you took, or to strip metadata from photos you took while it was on before posting them online.

Yeah, I've been telling people this for a long time. I think it's good advice for us all

Also remember that if you have professional photos taken have the embedded meta data stripped. May photographers embed this for copyrights.

Savvy people can find out info this way..

What is the easiest way for an amateur to

1. find out if metadata is attached to a picture.

2. remove that data?

Default Removing Photo MetaData

You might try the free program Batch Purifier LITE at:
http://www.digitalconfidence.com/downloads.html

or read thru the article at:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-...-windows-only/

for a more detailed program if you want to get into the depths.

That is exactly why I do not want some fancy phone! I think they will end privacy and that is not good at all for the hobby.
