I had joined about three years ago and then really started hearing about it about a few years ago when I started to really invest time and interest into "this", whatever this is.

But it's only been in the last six months or so that I've trying to be really active. And actually, I haven't been that active.

Yet. Great site.

For now and for it's purpose, really the best one that I know of.

I have been on there privately for some time , and recently (about a year ago) signed up as escort as well. It is a very nice site, specially the ways of browsing are nice (you`re not supposed to look for people but rather for common areas) and i like that. It keeps the spammers and wankers away :-) unlike on so many other "dating" sites. Plus, the people are really respectful when contacting. I haven`t been contacted as an escort often , though. But privately i am connected with a lot of kinksters, who are also on fetlife and so the introductions and the community grows . I think that is how it is supposed to work.

I was the same way when I joined it. After a few years, I've finally become just a little bit active.

I would explore the site and spend some time getting used to the way that it's set up. It's REALLY fun when you land on some members that have a very developed set of pictures, wants, extended families, etc.

It might not be for everyone but well, I think that it has true possibilities. At least for me.

I'm still looking for some specific things to explore. But again, it just takes time to actually throw yourself into what is going on with that site.

At first I had found the lack of a search ability annoying. Why do I want to spend time searching through all this stuff... give me the ability to serach the damn database!!!

But then, after a while, I started to actually enjoy the more community feeling of the site. There are gobs of groups on there, and I still get surprised with local one I never new or heard about. But part of that is because its continuing to change. Which is good, I think. Being too static is a quick way to becoming pointless.

For the most part I've had a pleasant experience on the site. In some ways its a 'Facebook' for kinky people! Though I do wonder at times with the full-on (and sometimes quite brazen!) pictures and out-there postings that people put on the site. It's not really practical for me to publicly post pictures due to my job. And being in the computer industry for the last couple of decades, I'm very well aware of how once you post something out on the net, it's pretty much gonna live forever somewhere on some server. And the sad thing is that we can't ever take stuff off really.

Still, even with that drawback (and it's not really a Fetlife one), it seems to be one of the better sites out there for those into kink.
