Just last week, I read in the WaPo that a villager woman in SE Asia, literally had 3 “sweat bees” living under her eyelid - the discomfort ultimately forced her to seek medical assistance, which notice movement under her eyelid.... kid you not....

Got an ember from some fireworks in my eye once. It blistered my eyeball, and it hurt to close my eye. Went to sleep freaking out. Woke up the next morning with the world's biggest eye booger and no ill effects.

This tops any work related injury.
Good God. That sounds horrible!!!

Was at the Kerrville Folk Festival camping out for a few weeks a VERY long time ago, had just been skinny dipping in some water place, and somehow ... a shard of metal got blown in my eye.

Had to go to the ER and the doctor had to cut the metal out. Think that they sliced something ... gosh, I'm grossing out and cannot write more about it.

Was scared to death. A few friends were with me but couldn't help but start crying, hollering in pain and being poorly behaved but tried to be civil, overall.

Hurt horribly. Wore an eye patch for the next couple of weeks.

Nothing like glue in the eye, though.

Elisabeth

Sunscreen is not pleasant when in your eye. I learned years ago to put it on and let it dry out before heading out for sweaty outdoor activities.
