I admit it, based on the research and feedback Ive seen, I was probably wrong. He seems to be guilty.

But I also have been in enough courtrooms to know the whole story aint being told.

You damn right I stand behind the man has rights that our Founders believed in completely. ( I don't know about Canada)

Look how many cases have been overturned from DNA. We don't always get it right, but at a minimum he should have been given a trial

From what Ive read, yeah hes probably guilty and needs to be in prison

Plus as it happened in the US, NOT In canada, how could he sue cause Canada violated his rights? If he's CAUGHT on the field of battle, he has none..

At a bare minimum shouldnt everyone get a trial?
]Did German, Italian, or Japanese soldiers get a trial to determine if they were the enemy?[/QUOTE]

My thoughts exactly Barleycorn. NO they didn't.. So why should a terrorist scumbag Caught on the field of battle..

Nuremburg trials were NOT for being prisoners of war though, they were for war crimes, associated with the extermination camps..

Mystic,

The rights you are referring to do not apply in this case.

POWs are not detained for prosecution.
They don't get trials because they are not being prosecuted for crimes.

They are detained to prevent them from reentering the conflict and must be released after hostilities have ended.

Since hostilities obviously haven't ended we could still keep the sorry sob in gitmo indefinitely.

I'm not sure why he was charged and imprisoned in canada.

Grean. I agree with you. Unless I find out something diffirent there does seem to be a strong case to support your position. Im sure some innocent people get caught up in the mix, but he doesnt seem to be one of the ionnocents

I see your position
