I think those fit. El Paso litarally joins NM.

Geography wise, yes. But we are as isolated from New Mexico as we are from Texas. Las Cruces doesn't add anything to the market. Hobbyist from LC and southern New Mexico routinely frequent the El Paso market for hobbying. I think Tex nailed how the Provider Ad section should look.

It has been discussed several times but for now there won't be any changes. I would love to split it up a little but there is not enough traffic creating to warrant creating a new sub-section. We have what we have and it mostly works. It would help if everyone mentioned the pertinent city when making a new thread.

That would solve everything right there. I think the only problem is in the Provider Ads section. Everything else is pretty easy to follow. Even if the provider doesn't do it, can a mod add the city to the beginning of the subject of threads in the Provider Ad section? Even when the provider does list it, the subject of their threads is sometimes so long it doesn't show from the index.

There's no logic to giving Midland-Odessa their own forum, but lumping LBK and AMA together. LBK and AMA are about 2 hours apart, and each of them taken alone is about the same population as Midland-Odessa combined.

Honestly I'd leave things the way they are, except possibly to pull El Paso out and give it it's own forum with Las Cruces. Because ELP/LC really are geographically isolated compared to the other cities we're talking about.

I think, if you think about it, LBK, Amarillo, and Midessa have more to lose than gain by splitting off into their own forums.

It would be helpful, though, to force providers to identify the city of interest prominently in the subject line of their ads.

Chopping the whole W tx forum up wouldn't make sense but a chop of the provider ad forums would be nice

I guess everybody is staying indoors on the computer today and out of the heat.

Changing something in the providers forum would help. Lots of the ads from travelers are vague. I'm not sure they ever pull a map and realize just how big an area we cover.

I just checked Mileages....
EP to Abilene 453 miles
EP to Amarillo 418 miles
EP to Lubbock 344 miles
EP to Odessa 284 miles
EP to Albuquerque 266 miles

EP & LC are in mountain time zone. EP is sometime visited from Arizona/Cali ladies, which often circle up to the Duke City.

If EP/LC doesn't want their own section, lump them in with NM. El Paso is closer to the Duke city than any other major city in West Texas.

EP to Dallas 636 miles
One factor in Ladies touring West Tx, not making the trip to EP.
EP to Phoenix 430 miles

El Paso needs to stay in West Texas simply because El Paso is literally in West Texas. The easiest solution, which would also have the most success, is what D Friday suggested and force the providers to identify the city in the subject line of their ads. I don't think actual mileage is the issue.

I get more confused on ladies who post to visit them in other cities when I am thinking that they are going visiting this area.

I will make the effort to insert cities in Provider ads if they don't do it.

Since El Paso is in between Phoenix and Dallas, we do get some ads from travelling providers who are making numerous stops. It's easier to keep all of West Texas together right now.

I think what Sandman really meant was the addition of New Mexico to the West Texas forums. And if we did, El Paso might be able to pull in some more visitors from Albuquerque since it's about a 3.5/4 hour drive, which may lead to more visits to gents in Amarillo (I-40) and possibly Midland/Odessa.

Great idea Sandman

I've always tried doing that myself. Yes, for West Texas, you could make it a rule.

When I think of El Paso personally, I think of it as West Texas....just VERY West TX.

Just because Louisville is close to Indiana doesn't mean it should be lumped with IN. Same with other border towns like: Cincinnati and KY, Toledo and MI, South Bend IN and MI, Buffalo and Canada, Detroit and Canada.

El Paso is West TX and I think it should stay there. (no offense to EL Paso Folks)

If there is a rule where ladies posting in TX can post as many ads as necessary but they all count as 1 ad (grand total), then I wouldn't mind if you spread out the cities. Otherwise, I'm only allowed 5 ads a week (+ the weekend one) and if all 5 are used up with 5 different TX towns, then I will be behind in advertising for the following week's ads which may need to be 5 OTHER states.

I like the fact that I can post 1 ad in West TX and have it mention anywhere from 7-8 cities if necessary...and still be allowed to post 4 other ads where I need to have them posted.

BTW, has anyone noticed or commented that the North/East Texas section is missing a PROVIDER AD section? I only see weekend ads and reviews, but no section for ads. Am I missing it somewhere or do we just post in co-ed?
