A lot of theirs are so contrived, I can understand that kind of frustration.
This one did not originate with me, but it has provided a useful point of reference in planning various projects and reviews.

But I would guess the OBAMA ones in another thread must have really touched a raw nerve. OUCH. Sorry man.

randyrogue,

it doesn't appear that anyone's answered your question yet, so I will take a go at it.

Banned is exactly what it implies. No access to your account anymore. Account frozen. Account locked.

There is no posting after someone has been banned, unless they come back under a different handle. It can sometimes be confusing to see a thread where a banned member has participated. It looks like he/she has been posting while banned, but that's probably not the case.

if you're certain he was posting after he'd been banned, point out the post(s) to me and i'll have a look.

Thanks for clarifying.
So if a member has the word "BANNED" under his name, it indicates his status.
I thought that was the case.

Here are some posts:

Others were listed in the search of Xavier.
I appreciate your considered response St.C.
These are from XAVIER, but it is not about him.
If I saw other 'banned' members posting, I would wonder.

Thanks again for responding to the question.

Randy,

this Xavier handle fired off several posts/reviews before TBONE laid him to rest at 6:30am on 1/24. When someone is banned, their account is frozen...the posts will stay visible.

Truth be told, if this "Xavier" gentlemen should ever grow weary of the "musical handle" games which appear to be taking up much of his time of late, it's quite possible we'd allow him to come to staff, take his lumps, and return as a contributing member at some later date. (hint, hint)

First of all, he is not a gentleman. Secondly, he has a history in the ASPD Houston forums of bad conduct going all the way back to 2000-2002, I was a moderator during this time. He has been a problem child since all the way back then. It's your site, and the decisions of the powers that be to let him in or not, but IMHO not a wise move. He is just more problems waiting to happen. It would have seemed like all his xavier handles and the other handle he made up would have convinced you of his normal behavior, and this just in the past month or so. This zebra will not change his stripes.

St.Christopher as one man of the cloth to another, sometimes turning the other cheek only makes your face really sore. You should deal with Xavier as you see fit, Father Wayward will give him some attention as well.

By the way while unintended, that is one of the funniest SHMB posts ever.

Posts like this certainly help to strengthen the case AGAINST his chances of returning one day.....as if he weren't doing a good enough job of that already.

Let's agree to disagree. Like I stated, this zebra won't change his stripes. It is in his nature to return.

No disagreement at all, sir. Just making an observation about the sentiment this bozo has created towards himself. Might be that he just can't help himself, but it's obvious he's generated quite a bit of contempt with his actions....has nobody to blame but himself.

Not everyone realizes that if you change the your avatar, user status, name, location, or sigline, it effects all your posts, even the posts from before the change.

I understand that appealing to the staff (agreeing with them on the transgressions), taking lumps (contrition), and promising to behave might presuppose a banned member's rehabilitation and merit his return to this society as a contributing member: a second chance, let bygone's be bygone's, etc. That could be redemptive -- hopefully. Progressive. Hope it works with whomever.

Thanks for adding to my understanding of THIS board's operations and ethos.

Keep in mind that "taking lumps" certainly consists of expressing remorse (contrition) but also accepting the sentence staff hands down.

Seeing that getting busted on a multiple handle violation generally gets you banned for somewhere around 90 days, it's safe to say he's well into a 2 year suspension. Just to be clear.

Barring the end of the world (2012).....2013 might just be his year.
