Are you confusing salient with subservient? I do not believe Americans want their representatives to pander and virtue signal to the lowest common denominator. Frankly, I doubt most of their constituents even own a Kente cloth scarf, much less wanting to live their life on their knees or bow down to criminals.

I think normal people want representatives that will make a difference. Maybe even move heaven and earth for them.
