ICU’s falsehoods aside, no one has advocated or allowed an open border policy. It's difficult to have an intelligent discussion with people that have very little understanding of the facts, such as Ace, Oil, ICU and others. They apparently watch Fox, OAN and Newsmax and believe they are provided factual and truthful information rather than opinion all day.

It would be good for them to volunteer to spend some time at the border, so they could see the actual situation.

Yeah, and Democrat policies pass the buck. That's why immigration is out of control because Government doesn't do the right thing. Our immigration policies are a disservice to both the immigrant and the natural born citizen.

I would definitely agree that in recent history neither party has really DONE much to resolve the immigration issues we face and the toll they take on all involved is one that could be much more destructive that we see currently if we continue to put border security and illegals running around unchecked on the back burner.

Part of the issue continues to be that every 4-8 years we as a people say 'fuck it' and decide to switch gears which often negates whatever progress has been made anyway. We continue to believe voting one way or the other allows for the possibility of better government. Not much evidence of this being true currently

No I have not.

And I also am not claiming we have open borders.

Not true. During the Obama administration he and Boehner along with the Senate “gang of eight” which included Graham negotiated comprehensive immigration reform. As is typical, the House Republicans killed it. Similar to the current situation. During both recent democratic presidencies, there has been immigration reform negotiated between both parties and republicans have sabotaged the effort for purely political reasons.

It's pretty clear that one party has perpetuated the problems at the border while one party has at least tried to negotiate a solution.

Maybe you are not claiming this but don't you think it is hypocritical to be telling someone to spend time at the border when you have not done this yourself?

I did not claim it is an open border. Others did, in the comfort of their arm chair, and as a political statement.

They need to see it for themselves.

Everyone is concerned about the Border. The point of it is people are coming here in large numbers and they aren't being accommodated very efficiently. Take Chicago, immigrants from Central America and surrounding countries and are being placed in a Bus Shuttle Center at O hare Airport for weeks. No body knows what they are doing.

Then maybe you need to see this for yourself instead of giving armchair advice. I have personally seen first hand the shit show that it is on the border and for someone to say it is not an open border is completely naive. Tell this to the people who live there and try and make a living farming and ranching in the area that there is not a open border issue and watch how fast you get laughed back to city life.

I would expect nothing less than you pathetic post. Typical grade school post when you have nothing of substance to add other than your arm chair opinion.

Whatever the official policy, formally declared and published by the administration and testified to by VP Harris and cabinet secretaries, the situation at the southern border, from California to Texas is that anyone from anywhere can manage to transition from Mexico to the USA without much difficulty.

So much so, that the conservative estimates are that several million foreign nationals from many countries have entered the USA over the past three years. This is not contested by anyone except by those officials testifying before congressional committees.

Whatever formal policy the current administration has on limiting entry by citizens of other nations, it is not effective in curtailing the on-going, every day influx of people from about anywhere by the thousands daily.

You don’t understand.

Congress needs to pass more laws for the Biden Administration to ignore.
