Default "Forbidden Topic"
New member here. At the risk of being booted out before I can even establish myself, may I ask why the Forbidden Topic is forbidden? Is it for protection? If yes, protection of who? Is there a state of denial between the relationship of forbidden topic activity and the fantasy-intimate activities that are discussed openly here? (Sorry, couldn't think of a more succinct way of putting that query without blatant forum violation.)

When you joined and took the time to look at the guidelines you saw what the 'forbidden topics' were and it is hoped that all new members understand that they are forbidden for the protection of "all." The use of the phrase in a post or review notifies others that the poster referenced these and the individual is contacted by a mod when this takes place and their post is edited.

The query was very well worded. The protection of ALL members is why, and if there are concerns they can be addressed privately.

Thank you DDarkness for your reply and welcome. With your continued liberal indulgence, I'd like push this theme a little further. (Again, being new to eccie please take no offense.)

Over the course of the past several years I have on occasion encountered "providers" that I suspected of "Forbidden Topic" activity. On many of those occasions my suspicions have been directly verified, either through what I personally observed or by admission of the provider.

Really, my question is of an ethical nature. Under the circumstances described above, am I obligated to stop seeing this type of provider or is it okay to continue enhancing their revenue stream just as long as I encourage them to turn about in a new direction?

I've been struggling with this for quite a long time now and wondered what others did in these circumstances. Is there a correct strategy for these circumstances? I worry about some of the rationales I've developed for continued relations with some of these providers.

And what if one of the "verified providers" has the "problem"?

What about one of the providers that NO ONE DARES say anything bad about because she is one of the "protected"?

I think the policy is primarily intended to protect the ownership from prosecution. I can see their point.

Not that any other illegal activities are promoted here. ;-)
