I am not sure exactly what Feinstein is getting at with her statement. It is NOT a proposal to ban guns. I would agree with you or anyone else that if any politician would support a total ban on guns it would be her. But she has at no time during her tenure in the House proposed legislation asking for a total ban on guns. BTW, I wish Feinstein would just go away.

And as for the statement from Rahm Emanuel, I could not find the context in which it was stated, but it is also NOT a proposal to ban ALL guns. I have no idea what an "entirely new class of guns" is.
Semantics....

The point is that there are politicians who want to do so.

And I actually cannot find a reliable quote on Obama saying that so I need to retracthe that.

I would agree with you or anyone else that if any politician would support a total ban on guns it would be her. But she has at no time during her tenure in the House proposed legislation asking for a total ban on guns. BTW, I wish Feinstein would just go away. “If I could have banned them all – ‘Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns’ – I would have!” - Dianne Feinstein.

And as for the statement from Rahm Emanuel, I could not find the context in which it was stated, but it is also NOT a proposal to ban ALL guns. Yeah, it is, but wrongly attributed to Emanuel. It was actually a Clinton policy adviser, Jose Cerda, who sought through the "Gun Control Act’s oft-abused 'sporting purpose' test to prohibit the importation of 58 types of rifles". I have no idea what an "entirely new class of guns" is.
Jose Ceda's remark is Exhibit "A" for reasons gun owners refrain from "negotiation" with anti-gunners. Even when an agreement is reached and signed, anti-gunners always seek to "redefine" the meaning of the text at later dates.

One need only look at the anti-gun crowd's mock outrage that an 18-year old can buy a rifle when he can't even buy a beer. Yet, it is this same crowd that raised the legal drinking age from 18 to 21 who are now pretending such an idea was carved in stone in the age of Moses -- when they are the deceitful culprits who perpetrated that change.

I believe she never served in "the House." May be she said it while she was in the Senate.

And I also believe she is "going away"!

Another exercise in futility???
My question would be how would the govt enforce going after everyone's guns?? Would they send military to accompany the police as they go door to door?

Thank you for the retraction.

I don't doubt that some politicians would like to ban all guns. Obviously they won't come out and say it. Even Feinstein whom I believe would come closest to wanting a total gun ban. I do take exception to people putting liberals into a single category as people who want to ban guns. No one I know wants that.

You probably weren't on this forum a couple of years ago when JD Barleycorn ran a survey asking people on this forum their views on gun control. 1 person wanted to ban all guns. 6 people wanted no gun control at all. The majority were in the middle.

My mistake on saying she was a member of the House.

Well, we finally agree on something. I don't know when she is "going away" but I hope it is soon.

Again, Dianne Feinstein was referring ONLY to assault weapons when she made that comment.

"I take Dianne Feinstein at her word when she says that if she had 51 votes in the Senate for 'Mr. and Ms. America, turn in all of your guns,' they would do it," Cox told host Chris Wallace Oct. 8.

Cox is off target, because he said Feinstein said she wanted to take away all guns. In reality, back in 1995, Feinstein said she wanted to take away all assault rifles.

Yes, I read the quote from John Lott. He has little to no credibility to me so if you want to believe him, go for it. But I hardly stand alone in my opinion of him.

The confiscation idea is beyond futile. It will never happen. That's not to day there aren't those who, regardless of what that would entail, would be all for it.

I believe the ATF under Obama was looking into basically outlawing the .223/5.56 ammo.

I heard she was not going to seek re-election, but that may have been questions about her health. I looked around and it appears she has announced she will seek re-election. Apparently her pacemaker has "kicked in" and is functioning correctly!

Whereas I KNOW Odumbo is a fucking lib-retard liar, speedy; so, Lott is infinitely more honest than Odumbo.

There you go being a stupid, equivocating lib-retard like Feinstein again, speedy. "Assault rifles" are capable of automatic fire, speedy. Automatics are already outlawed unless you have a Federal license, speedy. The AR-15 is not an automatic, speedy, but that is the rifle lib-retards like you and Feinstein continue to target, speedy. Fuck your equivocation, speedy.
