Does LE set up stings to catch Hobbyists?

I know I am going to sound like a chump but you only get to ask a few newbie questions.

Do LE set up incall stings? Meaning they get a hotel room and try to catch Johns without any intention of going after providers.

Does LE ever do outcall arrests? Meaning that they sent a LE officer into someone elses residence or hotel room to make an arrest?

I believe that they are out to get anyone they can. You'd be best with sticking with well reviewed providers/studios/agencies. Or, joining P411 and/or Date Check.

There are thousands of different police departments across America. I kinda doubt that anyone knows what they all do, so any answer is just speculation. I will say from reading discussion boards for years, I've got some impressions for the DFW area:

LE street sting = not uncommon
LE incall sting = extremely rare;
LE outcall sting = never for most (all in DFW?) jurisdictions; I've only heard of one instance of this happening (believe it was in OK).

I'll chime in from my research in other areas and from other boards.

NJ/NM- Street stings are common.
NJ - Incall stings have been known to happen. Often times nothing will be heard about it until the sting is over and a large amount of people end up charged.
NM- Incall stings I have also heard of.

NJ/NM- Outcall stings...never heard of them. On another board this was contributed to LE wanted to have control in the situation. In an outcall, that control is very much more in the hands of the hobbiest than the provider.

Take from it what you will, and stick with the advice given above. Well-reviewed ladies, and screening services. (Keeping in mind even those can be compromised.) Security and situational awareness are your responsibility. Be aware of the surrounding areas, the actions of others, and ALWAYS think with the big head. If something seems fishy, just walk away.

Random aside: I read of a lady in NJ who held the golden rule, never give up your clients. She served three years, but she knew that once you give up your clients, you'll never be able to come back.

I have never heard of an outcall sting and wanted to see if anyone else had.

I have also never read about an incall sting that didnt take place in a motel/hotel.

I was arrested last week during an incall sting, and have a friend who was arrested on an outcall at a hotel. Both are frequent, and getting more common. Several outcall stings last week here too with multiple arrests.

Ok OutedOne, I see that you live in Texas...

Mind sharing what city these arrests occured in? I have heard that once a sting happens it doesn't come around for another 2 years or so. Around city election time to give voters more confidence in officials doing the jobs they are trying to be reelected for.

yes the police do stings on guys ,and on girls,and incall and outcall,and in hotels and also (rarely) in private residences...

There was a sting in Orlando Fla 2 yrs ago that was run out of a private residence and netted a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves who was there for spring camp...he was sent home..

Heath, 24, is accused of offering $75 for a “sex act,” the Orlando Sentinel reports. Cops posted fake ads on the Craigslist and Backpage websites and nabbed suspects when they arrived at a home in Kissimmee. The team would not comment.

When you are caught in a sting..SHUT UP...Do not try to talk your way out of it as you cannot, you ARE going for a ride downtown...If you don't talk at all you make their case much more difficult and can probably plea to a lesser charge ...

Also,lying to the police,Obstruction of Justice, are felonies which they will hang over your head to get you to plea to the original charges..memorize these words

"i am not making any statements"
"i am not answering any questions"
"am i being detained?"
"am i free to go?'
"this is a legal matter and i want legal counsel"

The police will try to get you to admit facts...do not talk to the police !!!

From her posts, it's apparent that OutedOne is a provider. OP was asking about LE stings of hobbyists. From my reading of the boards and newspapers, LE stings targeting providers is much, much more common than LE stings targeting hobbyists. For provider stings, they seem to prefer outcall (like an incall sting for a hobbyists, this allows them to control the environment), but an incall sting targeting a provider is not unknown.

I worked(assigned not my choice) as a computer admin for an organized crime narcotics task force in the 90s at a major city(top 5 population). All stings were street walkers and were done only if too much time had gone by for a drug bust which led to the undercover officers just sitting around all day doing nothing. Also if people in an area of the city had complained about street walkers.

It basically gave surveillance and the new female recruits something to do. After the stings I could here laughing from the surveillance team room from reviewing the tapes. Sometimes they would come and get me to come watch the tapes. I would fake laugh sometimes but really just shook my head at the stupidity. I finally walked out one day and resigned after seeing blatant planning of corruption.

Certainly, LE run stings to exclusively arrest "Johns". It might be a bit more difficult than stings to arrest escorts. They do run adds in sites like BP. The adds look authentic with a picture of the girl and a phone number just like you would normally see. I think there are a few things that would pique my suspicison about one of those adds. The picture is for one thing too ehanced looking or like a professional photographer took it, secondly the pics are not very revealing. The add looks like many reffer to as " To Good To Be True". I would use that Tineye web site to verify if the pic is authentic or not. There really is no sure fire way of telling if you are contacting an LE decoy so always do a little research. See if the same add and pictures show up in other cities and if there any reviews on the same add with same pics and phone numbers. Thats about all you can do and hope thats enough.

According to news articles both incall and outcall stings are being used by local (and federal) authorities - mostly focused on under aged issues, but netting both providers and hobbyists.

Yes - they have sometimes set up stings specifically focused on netting clients.

Be careful, use known well-reviewed providers who have avoided LE contact.

the police do not do stings in apartments. So see independent providers who work from their apartment like me. Police will get a hotel room and do incalls all day long!!!! thats the main way they do them. Or set up a hotel and call girls for outcalls all day long.
