Bizarre. $15 per hour STARTING wage and full benefits and AOC has problems with it. What's going to happen to poor people when they start having to pay 20% more for what they buy? No, Amazon and Walmart aren't going to have to raise prices 20% if they pay people more. But if politicians made sure there were no billionaires in America like AOC wants, there would have been no Amazon or Walmart to force prices lower.

Poll: Many AOC Voters Pledge to Vote Against Her

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/ao...nt=&gdpr=false

Many voters in the congressional district represented by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., do not support her and are ready to vote her out in 2020, a new poll found.

The Stop the AOC PAC connected with more than 2,200 voters in New York District 14 for their feedback about the 29-year-old. The key findings:
  • 51% hold an unfavorable opinion of her, while just 21% hold a favorable opinion.
  • 36% support Amazon, which pulled out of a planned East Coast headquarters deal in Ocasio-Cortez's district after the junior lawmaker led a campaign opposing the company despite its promise to add thousands of jobs.

  • 9% do not support Amazon and 55% are unsure.
  • 33% said Ocasio-Cortez and others did not have the public's best interest in mind by opposing Amazon. 11% said the opposite.
  • 33% pledged to vote against Ocasio-Cortez in 2020, with 13% not pledging to do so. 53% were unsure.
Ocasio-Cortez is a socialist and routinely clashes with Republicans and her other critics.

Do you have any reason to believe that I support AOC?

SR - i know not - open to hearing your opinion of AOC.
I think she is the DPST Trump- Type - She speaks before consideration -often getting her facts wrong., and is an unapologetic political Socialist religionist.
I think she made some serious political enemies in DeBlasio and Cuomo in her own "Party" with the amazon fiasco.

That and blathering about US "Concentration camps" BS.
Let her talk - she is speaking her way into unemployment!!!

Her One major advantage is she is revered by the DPST MSM.

I think, like the old saying about children, that freshman House reps should be "Seen and not heard". Sit back and learn for a while. She's very young. About a year ago she was a bartender. But she destroyed the Democratic incumbent in the primary and was easily elected and will probably be re-elected in 2020 in a heavily Democratic district.

She supports Medicare for all. I like that but the cost would be astronomical.

She supports tuition free public colleges and trade schools. I like that too but the cost would be astronomical.

She got a bad rap for her "New Green Deal". Obviously if one does not believe in global warming caused by carbon emissions then the New Green Deal is a negative.

I think she has good intentions but has to learn to be quite a bit more diplomatic in getting her ideas across to others. I would not have voted for her but I'm sure if I looked at the other 434 members of the House there would be several others I would not vote for. Too far to the left.

SR - i agree with you generally
'Good intentions: - I cannot read the Mind.

"Global warming" - is now a DPST political settled issue. How much does human co2 emission contribute, how much is natural global cycle ( last ice age a mere 10,000 years ago) - not understood. Yet NYT proudly bans any further discussion - among other DPST mouthpieces.

Isit a good idea to limit our co2 - likely - I am unsure that batteries with the co2 costs of production, and nothing said about recycling - may cost.

Not to mention the Loons define a 12 year time to doomsday with no good evidence.

Soylent Gren New Deal is just a front for "Follow me" to Socialist Totalitarianism. Read the screed!

I did not want to turn this into a discussion on global warming. That has been discussed to death on this forum. However, I will say that my opinion is that dropping out of the Paris Accord was a mistake.

Russia hasn't ratified the agreement ... so they aren't bound. China is signed on, but who is going to enforce the requirements of the agreement?

Quote:
The Paris Agreement is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dealing with greenhouse gas emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year 2020. The Agreement aims to respond to the global climate change threat by keeping a global temperature rise this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...aris_Agreement
So the Loon from NY is opposed to it as well.

It doesn't get rid of fossil fuel driven air, land, and sea transport. No more blimps either .... !!!!! Unless electric!!!!

That loopy cunt makes Pelosi look only slightly out of touch instead of completely insane.

Hope she remembers how to pour booze.

She will not get any retirement benefits after just one term, correct?

Nope.

The key provision: no member of Congress is eligible for any pension unless he or she has served in Congress for at least five years. (Senators serve six-year terms; House members must seek reelection every two years.)Jan 11, 2013

does not mean she can't stash away her "PAC" money for a rainy day at the local pub.

AOC is very well liked in her home district. 52% approve, 33% do not approve. I would say at this point in time she is the odds on favorite to be elected to a 2nd term. Certainly not cast in stone with I don't know how many months to go before the Democratic primary in her district.

"Fifty-two percent of the freshman congresswoman’s registered constituents in The Bronx and the north-central portion of Queens view her favorably, compared to 33 percent who view her unfavorably, according to a new poll from the Sienna College Research Institute released Wednesday.+
