SR - I find trump's persona and mode of comunication sometimes objectionable - but far better than than the ideas to manage th country set for by Bernie - a confirmed Communist, and Biden - a pre-senile useful idiot of the DNC who supports Open Border, Medicare for all, The Soylent Green New Deal, Fake economics, and governmental Control Uber Alles.

Show me a viable candidate to oppose Trump - the DNC and its "Progressive" socidalist totalitarians have nothing but ruination of America in their policies.

To repeat -- no political person that I know of supports open Borders. Biden does not support Medicare for All. I have no idea about Biden's thoughts on what you call the "Soylent Green New Deal" but I know he supports rejoining the Paris Accord, as do I. No idea what "Fake Economics" means.

Is Biden a viable candidate? The only indication we have to go by right now are the latest polls. Remember how close the 2016 election was. 5-7 states will decide the 2020 election Biden currently leads in Michigan polls. The polls in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, NC, Florida, and Ohio, all states that Trump won in 2016, are all within the margin of error. Trump is ahead in some polls, Biden is ahead in some polls. The only state that seems to be in jeopardy that Clinton won in 2016 is NH.

So much depends on how the voters in this country view Trump regarding his actions on the coronavirus. The country is about to go into a recession. Doubtful there will be much recovery prior to November. Prior to the recent collapse of the economy, Trump supporters on this forum said voters simply had to ask themselves whether they were better off than they were prior to Trump's election. Most would answer "yes", which was a definite positive for Trump. Now it is likely that answer will be "no". Will voters hold Trump accountable? That is unknown at this point in time.

I believe if Trump shows we are headed in the right direction in November he can still win.

SR- i disagree- Biden is clearly in pre-senile demntia - and easily manipulated. I watched him pledge reparations to al sharpton, along with Beto and other candidates.
The DNC is controlled by the Progressive radicals- who recognize that Bernie Communist stances on issues were not saleable to the general public in America. They have chosen Biden as a supposed "moderate" - and will have a radical progressive AOC type VP candidate to take over shortly after - IF they are elected.

Biden is a stooge to fool the American people as to the intentions of the Fascist DPST's - which are controlled by the Radical Progressives - that is their agenda - the Bernie Agenda - and biden is just a stooge frontman easily manipulated due to his advancing dementia. Biden won't last long - so the DNC is keeping him under wraps as much as possible.

IMHO.

Name callings and scatologies.

If Biden drops dead the day after inauguration, he will still have delivered the Yanks from the idiot horde.

Don't get me wrong. Trump is still the odds-on favorite to win in November. He can come out of this smelling like a rose or smelling like s**t in the perception of voters.

Again, what Trump supporters seem to be in denial-mode on is the number of voters who will vote against Trump because of who he is and his record while in office. And I agree that whomever Biden selects as his VP nominee will be critical in his election chances.

"Former Vice President Joe Biden is known as a loveable gaffe machine — an unofficial title made possible by his many public blunders and the privilege of having those lapses viewed as endearing rather than disqualifying (a privilege exclusive to rich white men). But as the 77-year-old looks more and more to be the eventual Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election, pundits, voters, and political rivals are using his so-called “goofs” to shamelessly question his cognitive abilities — a practice that is not only ableist, but grossly negligent.

At a time when the world is facing the ramifications of a global pandemic — and we are forced to seek reassurance from a president who is pretending to be some kind of medical savant while outright lying about a very real, very serious public health threat — the last thing we need is people making unfounded accusations about someone else's health.

Sadly, irresponsibly questioning a politician’s medical status is nothing new. In 1984, concern about then-President Ronald Reagan’s mental facilities emerged. After his first debate with Walter Mondale, during which he appeared “confused,” the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said Reagan was “showing his age”. And during Roger Stone’s indictment, plans to utilize WikiLeaks to question Hillary Clinton’s mental health during the 2016 presidential election were revealed, which included accusations that the former Secretary of State had had a stroke and had a failing memory.

But President Donald Trump has undoubtedly lowered — if not entirely removed — the bar from which we measure and uphold respectable public discourse in this country. In 2014, Trump questioned the mental health of then-President Barack Obama as he steered the country through the Ebola crisis, saying via Twitter: “There’s something seriously wrong with President Obama’s mental health” and calling him a “psycho.”

As a result, Trump himself has been the target of allegations about his mental health. George Conway, husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, has accused the president of mental decline on numerous occasions, saying he’s not presidential but “mentally unwell.” Multiple media outlets, including The New York Times and USA Today, have published articles calling for Trump to be removed from office because he’s “psychologically unfit,” and in truly unprecedented fashion, 350 mental health professionals submitted a letter to Congress last year claiming that the president’s mental health was deteriorating."
