Default Reviews -- Is it part of the experience???

Preface:
*I'm not a (public) reviewer. Personal choice & have stated my reasons here before.

*Inspired by Marcus's jerk off thread....that is ultimately the only justification for spending the sums we do is the overall experience. Otherwise we could self-service and save ourselves the time & trouble.

*(Me personally) Had a talk with a good buddy over a pint of Stella today and regaled him exploits I had with a civie lady I recently met. Felt good. Part of the experience in a sense was bragging to a buddy. As good a buddy as he is, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing a similar experience with a provider.

Question -- For the reviewers, is the review & reliving and sharing the details (in all their glory) an integral part of your overall experience?

I understand my rationale for not kissing and telling in public...but I guess I can also understand the motivation for wanting to kiss & tell in public if that is the only outlet you have for it.

So is writing reviews for you more than wanting to get free premium access or altruistically helping your fellow hobbyist? Is it part of the experience for you?

For me, writing reviews is a pain in the ass. And I have, in the past, written them on multiple sites for access to those multiple sites. I do it solely for access.

Don't do public reviews or even private ones. Will share privately with some one about a provider but will not get in to details, I will mention that I have seen her before, if I enjoyed my time with her and if I am planning on seeing her again. But not much more than that, as a big believer in YMMV, I don't think everyone's playing field is the same, there forth I will not expose such information that might cause miscommunication later down the road.

There is no reward of feeling or satisfaction to myself by doing a review, so with that nope not going to happen.

It's the sense of community and the value derived from participating. Similar to why you rate business transactions on eBay or Amazon. There is value to the rest of the community and potential, future customers of the product. And, by contributing, you are reciprocating the value received from reading others' reviewers before meeting a new lady.

I think the bragging aspect is valid, but nominal. It is interesting that you guys participate in the community without reviewing. Why come here? Why not go to other, more active discussion boards? Let me guess, Ansley?

Trojanman - I welcome your participation on the Atlanta bored anytime

I'm reluctant to participate in more active, local forums where I'm not active...sorry...but I don't spend a lot of time in Texas.

For a few guys I think it may be. I recall a guy posting a few years ago that after he wrote a review, he would typically revisit it time and again so that he could "relive" the experience. I didn't understand that at all. Personally, I would prefer to "relive" the experience by actually seeing the lady again!

I think we've all been there and done that at least a few times in our lives. During my younger years, I certainly did so on a number of occasions. So did just about all of my friends.

But for the life of me, I can't imagine why a guy would feel the need to puff himself up with pride about doing something that an escort allowed more or less as a matter of course. It's just ridiculous. Yet many reviews seem to be more about the reviewer than the reviewee!

That's why I pretty much stopped reading them years ago. I prefer to share information with other quality-seeking hobbyists and communicate regularly with at least a dozen other gentlemen.

As one may note from the "zero" under my avatar, I don't write public reviews. At least 95% of my P4P activities in recent years have involved SD/SB arrangements and UTR providers who don't want them.

But even if that weren't the case, I would still be reticent to write reviews. Readers seem to want long narratives painting a complete picture of the entire experience. I'm just not really comfortable with that.

I would much prefer a simple "yay" or "nay" from a trusted hobbyist whose tastes seem similar to mine. It just seems to me that everything else is either highly subjective or "YMMV."

Many of us in this forum are from parts of the US or abroad that don't have very active discussion groups. This forum has many folks who migrated over from HDH on ASPD and continued in that vein.

Just because a man doesn't write reviews doesn't mean he isn't contributing. I would be willing to bet that $$$ adds value to the ECCIE community.

Word. Money spent on ladies pays for advertising that keeps the board open.

I didn't take it that far in depth. I was thinking that a lot of men pay for memberships, but don't actually write reviews.

I want to empathsize some not all.

But that was my sense when I started the thread.

I don't get it myself. To your point it is like bragging that you got seated and served at the new steakhouse in town. Of course you were. And you paid handsomely for it.

Now if the steak was really good...you may want to go back (many times)...but it isn't like you did something exceptional to make the experience happen (other than make sure your AMEX would go thru).

But to read some reviews you'd think either he was the protagonist or he was writing for Penthouse Forum...

Didn't know empaths came in sizes, but I'll take your word for it.
