Default How do you tell what's real and what's scam?

I've tried meeting up with a couple people from LC a few months back.

1 was in moon at a hotel. I didn't get scammed since no money transfer but waste of gas. I'd say it was a no call no show.

The other I did get scammed out of money. I sent money through cashapp and went to a location in McKees rocks/Elliot . Person even used a local area code number. After sending money they stopped responding.

It kinda pushed me away from looking. Since most listings look like they are too hot to be Pittsburgh but even the ones that look real look scammy.

So how do you avoid being scammed and know when something is legit?

I tried listcrawler comments section and most are empty. When I went to post a comment the messages never appear.

Pretty much anyone who asks for payment through cashapp or PayPal is a scam. There are some on alternate sites that are reputable and have a deposit system that I have used and everything went okay but anyone posting on STG, escortbabylon or any other aggregator sites are total scams if they are asking for deposits. I actually had a female on the hook last year and she even gave me her hotel room number but insisted that I send money before I open the door. I knocked dozens of times and not a sound from inside so I knew it was a scam. Cost me parking and gas but lesson learned.

Rule #1 - never pay in advance
Rule #2 - never share personal information
Rule #3 - use a burner phone or app

First NEVER pay a “deposit”.
And if you see one of those ads where the girl claims to offer everything you can imagine for next to nothing, it’s fake.

Learn to use Google image or Tineye to look up photos. You may find that girl listed in multiple other cities or a porn site where they got the original picture

Install the tinyeye plugin for firefox (if you use chrome and value your privacy, don't).

In my opinion, almost every ad that has a phone number with an area code other than 412 or 724 is a scam or fake ad. 814 can be legit, but iffy.

There may be the occasional touring girl with a different area code, but they are few and far between. Most touring providers have little or no interest in coming to Pittsburgh.

Professional looking pictures are almost alaways a dead giveaway too. The majority of locals post really crappy pictures.

Thinking about how this could work... a $25 "deposit" from let's say 15 guys a day.
Wouldn't even have to really schedule anything would they??

A few other telltale signs that an ad is not legit:

* Anything in the "location" field of the ad that is not an actual location. An email address is not a location. A phone number is not a location. "In town" is not an actual location. "Surrounding areas" is not an actual location. "Incall" is not an actual location. This rule will let you eliminate about 90% of all ads on the ad sites.

* Strange use of language that would never be used by a native speaker of English. My current favorite is "Text me on ...". No one who's a native speaker of English would ever say that.

* Words that appear to be deliberately misspelled to evade spam detection. That "Busty Moooom" who is offering to fuck you is a scam...

* Anyone who claims they can't accept payment in cash, for any reason. It doesn't matter what their reason is - this is automatically a scam.

Probably a dude in the basement setting up his gaming station.

"Anything too good to be true, probably is"
Is a good guiding principle.

If they ever let new members in, get with XOC or CityGirls. No scams, smoking hot girls, super professional.

Details in the pictures, light switches and sockets, brand of shampoo, plumbing fixtures, appliances.

To add to the location thing, even ads with actual legitimate locations can be fakes if the given location is overly general. “Downtown” or “near airport” are often signs of fake ads. Remember, the scammers run the same ads in multiple cities at once, so the stated location often is one that can apply to any city.

That’s another check you can make as well. Check ads in other cities. If you see the same ad in multiple locations, it’s fake.

That's true - just about any town has a "downtown", and most major cities have an airport. Which means a scammer can just post the exact same ad "as is" in multiple cities. When I look at the location, I'm looking for an actual name of a neighborhood, or local municipality - something that wouldn't work if it was posted in an ad in another city.
