i think some people have issues with people collecting govt assistance and then spending that on PROHIBITED TOPIC, etc.
but again i think we should not lump people together, people do need help and we should help them.
if we can pay 4 billion dollars to egypt and israel a year, we can help our people.
our country should come first, but again we should cut the fraud out of the system wherever possible.
I actually heard a republican congressman say today on the news that we have to pay more in education funding for afgans in the middle east so we can educate the women and children there, in the same interview he said we need to cut education in our budget domestically ..
hmmm, i found that funny, and sad, but the guy meant it, and the news anchor naturally couldnt believe what she was hearing and asked him to clarify and he doubled down on that.

This is a really great thread but the PROHIBITED TOPIC comments have to stop!

Dove you indicated that I was wrong in my assessment of the unemployment question way back when. When an individual's unemployment runs out and they stop reporting, they are mistakenly taken off the unemployment roles. If they continue to report that they are still looking they get counted.

The issue of underemployment is also a very real curse and I guess for me the bottom line is that if that hammer falls again and I am between jobs, to make ends meet, I will do what I need to do ... but as was stated the experience factor often results in being told that "you are over qualified for that position" when in fact you are willing to take whatever you can to TRY and pay the bills and put food on the table!!!

Our current president has to deal with the disaster created by our previous PRESIDENTS and REPRESENTATIVES. His efforts though are pulling us out of a hole but it will be a few years before his efforts begin to bear fruit.

DAMN I hate politics! Just stop with the PROHIBITED TOPIC comments! ... PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I find it ironic that the in my area on NY, there is no unemployment office. It closed. They can't even keep people working there vs. the idea go going all electronic. Sadly ironic.

I have no issue with it. Good for her for being smart enough to use the system to her advantage. Is $200 a month to eat really a lot? There are more important things to be mad about. How can anyone that is breaking the law by using her services get mad at her? Really, now. I smell a bit of hypocrisy here.
