The average was $3.33 at this time last year. No prices are falling. Quite the opposite.

You're right. $3.33 was the average for the entire state of PA in May 2024. Which means Pittsburgh has some of the highest prices in the state.

I filled up for $2.96/gal in Smithton in December. To be fair, Smithton always has the cheapest gas around southwestern PA. Same station is $3.30/gal now.
In summation: gas prices are NOT falling.

... Petrol-gas prices have FALLEN in other parts
of the country, mate - While PA has high gas tax.
Talk to Guv Shapiro about that.

PA has always had high gas tax, under every governor from both political parties. Has nothing to do with Shapiro. Has more to do with Republican majorities in the state House and Senate.
And the point is, gas prices have only gone up since December of last year, irregardless of state tax.

They are lower in many states. The gas tax here is a joke. NY has cheaper gas than we do now. I wouldn't put that on Trump. Look at the bigger picture.

I didn't put it on trump. We've always had some of the highest gas tax in the country, no matter who is in charge.

my point was not that it's Trumps fault or praise if gas goes up or down, despite him taking the glory if it does go down (as it did in a pandemic and nobody was using or buying gas), but rather the oil and refineries that are stabbing AMERICANs in the wallet. Now can a government do something about that- perhaps, by incentivizing or leaning on those refineries that are having record breaking earnings- to stop gouging consumers or even looking at them as monopolies in some cases, BUT- more specifically these folks in the API, American Petroleum Inst. have been giving billions of dollars- to candidates- specifically those who will let them do more of their bidding without consequences; and those today are REpublicans. Do they give a shit about Middle America-- FUCK NO. They need the lobbyists and their wallets who fund nationally the entire scam of keeping the US dependant on guzzling more and more oil / gas.
The only time governement was forced to stop anything like that- was with the cigarette companies after it was found to be evil cancer causing shit. Till then------the USA is gonna keep on sucking on the oil TIT and demonizing anything that would or could put oil companies on their heels; like gas MPG mandates or electric cars or enhancing the power grid. DON"T HEAR A PEEP out of this administration wanting to do any of those things; They are still dealing with imaginary eating of pets, and fake measles, fake news, fake elections and trying to destroy the Judicial branches of government while at the same time, turning the education system into a fucking free- for-all fuck fest.
Gas prices are simply a talking point to distract real AMERICANS from the damage they continue to do EVERY DAMN DAY
