France outplayed US with 60/40 time of possession. They will be required to play better to make the finals.

In general - i find soccer boring as paint drying - except for women's World cup games.

the USA mens team is pretty bad. the U.S. league is paying $100,000+ for these guys to win games, not lose games.

A long time ago when I played it was considered poor sportsmanship to run up the score. As a liberal you should have some compassion for a third rate raggedy ass country like Thailand.

The women's team should have stopped scoring after 10 points.

Lou Holtz didn't run up the score at Notre Dame when they were beating the shit out of SMU, did he?

The thailand game - FIFA limits the team to 3 substitutions for a game.
I do not feel one can ask the athletes to cool it.

They are there to compete.

So it was a blow-out - the thai coach said the team needs to get better - Agreed.

None of the US players were rubbing it in after the game
The scoring and advancement requirements reward goal differentials - as i understand their system.

A game like that could be the difference between advancing or not advancing.


So - It happened - so what.

None of the thai players are whining for a participation medal - so let's just hand the medals out to the whiny liberals who cannot live without a fix in to honest competition (ne capitalism).
