I was going to just edit my post above, but I didn't want a hata' to miss my correction.
One, we don't know if she did offer him half or any of his money back. The hata's are just assuming. I wouldn't be surprised if she did, and that brings me to my second point.
It's a safe bet to call him and offer him some money back. There's no way Mr. Cali's going to answer the phone let alone listen to and meet the lady to get a refund.
