WTF, it was a more innocent time. It's like we were sure that we were invulnerable. And yes, the behind-the-scenes drama got ridiculous, and much of it started at the top.
But all in all, it was a hell of a lot of fun. Everyone was welcome, unless you were a jerk. Getting into the inner circle took time, and trust had to be built, but it was certainly worth it. And the parties. Oh, the parties. They were about friends cutting lose and going a little bit nuts with a bunch of like-minded adults.
Not long ago I ran across some photos from the parties (Amanda's b-day at a place off Montrose, and another party at the late, lamented Palm Beach Club.) Good times.

It was a more innocent time. Unfortunately, there were a number of individuals who felt if they pushed ASPD out of business, they could take over the market and get rich. Some of these wannabes caused alot of problems for ASPD; however, the end result was caused by Amber's failing health, her death, and the fact that her family members had no concept of how the system operated and the risks of bad choices.
I do not believe anyone connected to eccie ownership had anything to do with this prior to ASPD being gone.

Roberta is here?
Well, the resurfacing of Roberta has forced me to come out of retirement and break my vows of silence.
I remember some of this.. like a Patron infused memory..
The party off Montrose was at the SkyBar, I remember I had to sneak away from the wife to come to that and was riding my motorcycle back then. I also remember the Halloween party and I was making out with someone in the host's bedroom.. a friend of Roberta's I think. And Roberta brought me a birthday cake to The Men's Club for my birthday, my 40th I think. Oh.. and a lap dance
Good times..

Correct. Way too many people felt as if they could do a better job and suddenly everyone was trying to start discussion boards with little success. One girl started one and then invited only those who did not care to post so the result was a nice looking board with zero post. Others thought ASPD had it all wrong and tried it their way only to run into hard truths such as having a critical mass of posters and their board failed. Others created boards for just their little clique and let everyone else know they were cool and you are not. You can imagine how that went over. And they wondered why their board failed.
I agree with WTF and a few others that ASPD was rife with drama most of it self created by the staff and owners. It is just as well that it went away.

Any party/orgy we had was invitation only with the explicit rule that Nothing be posted on the boards. It's been long enough that the National Hobbyist Secrets Act has expired (especially since I put all those rules in place.)

In theory that was fine but in practice the result was each party there was less and less people until it was only the little clique of 4-5 people hanging out.
As much as you want to keep things private you have to keep adding people to the invite list to make up for those dropping off.
