No, in my case it was due to activities. At the time there were just a very small handful of hobbyists seeing and reviewing TS. He clearly did not approve. Though, announcing a discount might very well set of a chain reaction, too.

As for how he'd know? Not my concern, but people talk. A lot on these boards. The upside was meeting her in a Nevada brothel years later where it was clearly no longer an issue.

Net if it is, if a woman thinks you will impact their bottom line they will make decisions. In the case of black hobbyists it is based on generations of (mis-)perceptions and a few bad apples.

Of course, there is always that possibility. Though the later meeting out if state and ensuing discussions seems to lower the probability. Trust is a rare commodity in this hobby. Even if the pair trust one another not to say anything just add several shots of tequila and pretty soon one or the other might be letting on to their friends. Which begins the rumor mill.
