I remembered it as a 1970s show, but half of it was in the 80s - it ended its run in 1985.

One of the best in-jokes in series TV.

In "Howlin' Mad" Murdock in The A-Team and Lt. Reg Barclay in the Star Trek franchise, Dwight Schultz had two of the best comedic characters in American television. Always enjoyed watching him work.
