A more definitive way of putting it is this:

If your bills rely on the income you earn being a provider then its a business

If they do not, its a hobby.

For the men, this is a lifestyle / hobby....


The one thing I have realized after all time I have been on this board and been a part of some of the drama here is this:

Drama only causes controversy..... when two guys attack each other on here its not like we are going to meet some place and get into a fight. Nor do we have any info on each other to get the other arrested.

Ladies on the other hand.... well they vouch for each other and know about each other... people tend to know more about other people in their line of work......

So when two ladies tangle... and start making threats.. not good.


Bottom line is that if a lady is well established, has good reviews, had her own website for contact info etc... she might not need ECCIE to add her business.... P411 allows reviews and so does Horndogs.. I am sure there are others.

When this site becomes useless to someone there is no need for them to be here.

This is a situation where both have supposedly opposite feelings, but IMHO both opinions have merit.

We all have out internet 'others', those who's opinions we feel are more like ours. In my case, I seem to have opinions like Sarunga and my long time buddy blowpop. But that doesn't mean that guys like wakeup and DH are inherently wrong with every posting. Both are smart guys and could add to the board if and when they want to.

Hey if you want to meet W.U. and engage in a physical controversy that is up to you.. but most people understand its the internet... a sense of bravado is imposed since you, W.U. and others are all represented by words on a screen and some avatar.

as for the statement going back to Junior High days and getting into an internet debate... I think the term you are looking for since you want to go back in time is "Flame War" and it originated on news groups.

Being a veteran of the net since the 9600 baud dial up days with dial up BBS'ing back when 300 baud was "high speed" I can tell you that when someone debates things over the net and resorts to name calling, or cheesy pokes at you and does not stay on track, good indication they have lost the debate and they know it.

That is why I find this site so amusing.. a decent debate happens and one of the principals involved starts the name calling, mud slinging etc.
