Brain cancer is not a death sentence.

https://www.cancer.org/cancer/brain-...val-rates.html

Keep in mind that the stats are based on national numbers and not specific facilities, who are particularly well-known for successful treatment of all types of cancer .. e.g. M.D. Anderson and John Hopkins.... et al.

that link doesn't say what the rate of survival for people over 55.

that depends on what stage cancer he is in.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/n...720-story.html

The American Cancer Society puts the five-year survival rate for patients over 55 at about 4 percent.

Statistics are just that .... when one says "over 55" that includes those 70 on up! I will address that statistic ... variables: the health care coverage of the patient, the diagnosing physician, the ability of the patient to travel for treatments, the attitude of the health care providers toward aging patients, and other health issues that deter aggressive treatment and/or surgery ... cancer treatment success has a lot to do with the overall general health and physical condition of the patient, because of the detrimental effects of the treatments and the risks involved with them ... and that also involves attitude of the patient. Like I said: It's not a death sentence.

His expertise is in predicting the outcome on murder trials, ...

..... e.g. Zimmerman's in the killing of Martin! Batting ZERO!

Said Zimmerman would get convicted of "something"!

Say what you want about the man. He is one tough s.o.b. Even at 80 he's got plenty of fire left.

I'm not the one writing him off. He'll be back to vote, and it wouldn't surprise me that he gets a standing ovation on both sides of the aisle with the customary, obligatory racists remaining in their seats.

Cancer in general doesn't have to be a death sentence, but don't hang your hat on the statistics you gathered from that web site.
