If you have a problem with what I've posted, just remember it's a problem for you. It's not a problem for me.

Common areas that you might see "Gun Free Zones" signs would be Hospitals and clinics, Schools, Governmental Buildings, sporting events and Research Centers. Iam sure there's others. But as we all know anything can happen regardless of signs, and even the law.

There are several people on this forum who would say that "Gun Free Zones" are in fact an infringement on the second amendment. Some believe that the 2nd amendment allows ANY person to carry ANY weapon at ANY time in ANY place. I happen to agree with you. And I certainly agree that signs are not an effective deterrent to some idiot who wants to carry weapons where they are not wanted.

That makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever.
You obviously did not read any of my posts. We know when people are killed in a gun free zone. What we don't know is how many lives have been saved because gun free zones exist. My office building is a gun free zone. If someone wants to risk carrying a concealed handgun into the building and being fired from a rather high-paying job, that is their choice. To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever been shot in any of my company's buildings. If a student at the University of Texas - Austin wants to carry a handgun into a dormitory, classroom, or administrative office they do so with the understanding that they will be dismissed from school for doing so.

Why are there gun free zones? The people who are responsible for the gun free zones have determined that there is a greater risk in allowing people to carry concealed handguns than in not allowing them to do so.
