I can't answer for him but one can't assume that just because someone was in the army in the late 60s/early 70s that they served in Viet Nam. I was in the army from December 1968 until September 1970 and spent my time in S.C. and Virginia.

as far as what SC has to say, I would not have even seen it had you not quoted him, since I have him on ignore, sometimes I don't even know why anyone would respond to anything he post, from the Titles of his threads he starts it seems he is trying to bait posters into what ever, far as to what he believes, I could care less, the 3 ribbons anyone who served in Vietnam received those, the Sharpshooter and Pistol Expert I received those during my training

Being drafted in 71 was a stoke of luck for yssup Nixon was president and the US was bring more troops home at that stage of the Vietnam war, what I know about the Army those that enlisted for the most part served stateside or went to Germany, had they been drafted in 68 they would have more and likely been sent to Vietnam unless the Army had a better choice MOS for them

Well I was stationed at home with my parents. In 1971 I was about 13.

so, that leaves Copts & Ethopians. (yes Ethopians have a new year in september.) I looked it up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year

and it also includes Jews.

it appears I've missed this due to source being poorly written up. it says falls in Autumn which is a very generic way of saying it.

so you are jewish.

that said... I've never slandered a Jew here, at least not on purpose...

cite those claims of yours. otherwise I think you are just trolling.

You are wrong about that.

There is no way a reasonable person would accept as their commander in chief someone as amoral and insulting of the military as Trump. No reasonable military personnel will accept a man who not only never served but took 5..count em 5 bullshit deferments.
Not true, on both counts. The vast majority of military men and women have a preference for one candidate or another, but their loyalty is to the country, not the person. The basic belief that the military is controlled by a civilian C-in-C is as old as the US--whether we like the person in the office or not.

I think you overstate. Most military are right of center, but less strongly than you would think. And it has changed from the 70s and 80s. It depends upon the issue, the Service, and the rank.

It also matters what issue--many are strongly Right on some issues, but also come from inner cities and poverty, and disagree with many of the issues like tax cuts for business/upper level earners, separating children from families.

The "military mind" is far less lock step these days.

You could be correct. The ex-military people I know personally are white and older and not inner-city but most definitely very pro-Trump.
