LOL! We tried a short notice availability thread in Dallas (which didn't work) and kept asking ourselves "Why does it work in Houston and not in Dallas?"
http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=652026
Turns out it didn't.

I used to travel there frequently for work....the main thing I remember about Niagara was the place was packed full of A-rabs (Like certain areas of Harwin)....oh, and there was that waterfall deal too.....

I've never met Gina, but I will say this...A LOT of ladies including myself have advertised and benefited from having P411 as a screening tool. In all the time that I have been a member there, Gina has personally handled each and every problem that I have ever had in a prompt and professional manner.
You guys think that we in Houston are the only ones having an issue with the changes there, but consider just how far and wide this backlash must encompass.
Sending out out all my love & hugs to Gina today, hopefully some tech savvy guys will contact you with some viable suggestions. I think you could have the ad board with standard checklists of available times, dates, links and then from there guys could find out activities, etc.
Xoxo,
L

Brilliant solution, Lexie!!! I always use ad board. I don't normally pay attention to the lengthy ad description. What I really care is who are available at what time. Then I will look at their profile and follow up with pm on any questions. It's really much more convenient than the search tool. Using standard checklist without detailed description fully serves my needs. Gina, for you it will save you all the pains. Please seriously consider this solution!

I'm sure she's noticed me say (before) that I'm sad i missed that free 6 months by maybe just a few weeks or less. I've never received a pm from her offering it to me.
|
I did miss it, I'm sorry. Please shoot me an email and I'll see what we can do for you. My pm is turned off, so please email me (gina@preferred411.com).

She said she can't hire people because of them having access sensitive information.

I think I said that I'm not comfortable hiring anyone because of the sensitive nature of this business. Bringing someone in off the street, who would be unlikely to have any experience in this industry, isn't an option because I'm not cool with it.
However, if a smart and capable Canadian provider, that I know well, ends up wanting to retire and join P411, that would be an option. It's always been an option.
Regardless, our business is being a verification service and the Advertising portion has never been our focus. If we have to keep things small, that's fine by me. Of course I don't want to lose any customers over it, but if the only other option is bringing in strangers to work with us so we can handle the growth, I would prefer to remain small.
It's not always about the money. It has to be about the quality of the service we provide and about our quality of life too. I'm sorry the Ad Board is gone, but I'm glad that I'm not going to have to deal with the negative aspects of monitoring it.
Always,
Gina

If any hooker's business has noticeably slowed because one site has removed their ad board...the hooker is doing it wrong...

Just playing devils advocate here.... but couldn't you hire someone specifically to police and monitor the Ad board? Surely this can be accomplished without giving someone the "full keys to the castle" of said sensitive material. Or have a few volunteers to oversee the ad boards and Institute self reporting to aid in that.
Both options seem doable and able to have substantial limitations to vital administrative areas of which you are rightfully protective so long as your webmaster is not completely inept.

Over the past 5 months the providers were given the opportunity to report ads that were in violation (and would earn points by doing so). A few (2-3) took on the task and did a GREAT job helping out.
The problem was that I still had to contact, and then argue with, providers about the terminology violations in their ads. It became a game for some to see how far they could push the envelope. I don't like shutting down accounts, so I would give plenty of chances, but that in turn turned into providers taking even more liberty thinking that I wouldn't shut them down.
The past five months has been a clusterfuck and I'm just not willing to continue with the Ad Board. We will be working on an Available Now feature shortly though!
Always,
Gina

Trust me.... I FULLY understand your frustrations and difficulties in thay regards (having done the same here when we has the same restrictions)
Again as devils advocate....from above stated experience, the most difficult part is the transition early on. It gets easier and conformity sets in for the most part. Also an addition of a dedicated few for that specific area should more than suffice in taking that burden off of your shoulders along with a concise outline of acceptable/unacceptable content.
New ideas and formats are never without their trials and tribulations, but from a business aspect (both providers and ownership) it shows tremendous potential

Gina,
I've noticed many mention that you handle all cases personally, you can't put a price on that kind of service and personal attention. With the legal changes I understand the additional workload in order to stay within the law. And sacrifices had to be made.
Quality was not one and I appreciate that.
Surely you are aware of our Houston forum here. We'll bitch about anything, from the price of oil to the size of flies buzzing around the bullshit. I'm just upset about losing the convenience of having the ads with the verification. I'm sure I'll get over it. I do admire your focus and dedication to remain a standard of service that at the end of the day you can be proud of.
I hope you continue to succeed in what you do and also hope you find a solution that will appease at least a majority of the masses.

Similar... but different. It closer resembles when we went from the wide open ad posting to image standards and no services in ads. A complete clusterfuck for a few months then overall much better and manageable.
