Prostitutes who really want to be safe should find a different line of work. She mentioned herpes -- it's a much greater danger in any kind of sexual contact (including kissing) than the miniscule chance of getting AIDS from a blowjob, and one that anyone in a non-monogamous relationship faces. And frequency increases probability. Do the math.
Sexual service providers who want to continue their work and be as safe as that choice allows would do well to do as Heather does -- follow the guidelines of a place like Baylor. Hospitals, governmental agencies and others with significant financial and public relations liability have little choice but to make their recommendations based on the full range of behaviors that have been reported as resulting in infection. Some of these possibilities are so rare as to be reasonably ignored.
An example would be getting AIDS from HIV infected cum because "all that delicious HIV infected semen comes in contact with a teensy weensy microscopic cut or tear in OUR throat or mouth it CAN infect us." That's just not
true, even though it is statistically possible.
For one thing, HIV cannot survive in saliva. Does that mean saliva "kills it"? You tell me. Also, the mucous lining of the mouth secretes a protein (digestion, right?) that attaches itself to blood cells and effectively prevents HIV attachment.
Have a bleeding oral ulcer? Might be risky. A "microscopic cut or tear on the throat"? You can take that off your list of concerns, no matter what they tell ya at Baylor. You could get it from cum on a zit, too, (during that PSE stuff that Heather condemns men for "inventing" and, by implication, any woman who is "gullible" enough to consent to) but you won't.

They are really common knowledge among those who consult statistical data (published peer-review, without vulnerability to class-action lawsuits or public opprobrium) or speak candidly with public health workers. In the USA it's dirty needles, unprotected anal sex (between homosexuals) and heterosexual vaginal sex (with a greater risk for male-to-female transmission than vice versa) -- in that order of risk. If you're gonna get AIDS that's how you're gonna get it. My knowing that, and saying it, does not entitle you to insult me. Please don't do that again.
You have an aversion to semen and warm snot, fair enough. But you are aware (right?) that there are free women who sometimes
